Expensive Nights
kitten-kissed on April 19, 2009 at 2:10 a.m.

I've consistently spent more than usual these past two nights. Ugh!

Friday was a gorgeous weather day, and I spent it walking around Grenwich Village with a couple of people and visiting restaurants and bakeries. Finally tried Five Guys (burger joint), which was pretty darn good. Also enjoyed milk chocolate caramel cookie from Milk & Cookies, and a bit of red velvet cheesecake cupcake from Sweet Revenge. And salivated over Jacques Torres chocolates-- Oh.my.god just buy me something from there if you want to get on my good side...

I spent the evening at the Upper West Side with PM, R and E at a very cool Comedy Club. We hung out at the bar til the show started, and I got the unlimited non-alch. drinks for $15 (a bit steep for me) and we all shared a sausage pizza that hit the spot. So, they seated two blond boys next to us and the one across the table from me was gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Blue eyes, of course. Too bad I talked more with his friend.

The emcee was pretty good. I talked back to him which was fun. There were a lot of comedians that went up, which was awesome. My absolute favorite was the first one-- He was just too hilarious. And all the rest were fairly awesome as well. I definitely had a good time, and got to meet a couple of them afterward. D was pretty cool-- He was telling me he needs a PR person and the last film he acted in was Fighting, with Channing Tatum who is absolutely hot! So I started asking D all these things about Channing, and he sounded butt hurt that I was hitting on Channing and through him! Aww.

Busy Saturday as well. Another beautiful day out. I spent the morning at the Asian American Conference at NYU. Mid-day near Union Square to meet with JK and RDC to work on the PowerPoint Presentation for our UN Global Compact practicum project. It was good. Made some progress, and got to chat with these guys. Then, walked the outdoor market starting at 14th st and down to W 4.

Evening was spent in Brooklyn at a Japanese fusion restaurant called Halu. It was such a nice place, and a lot of us showed up. Ran into some people I knew, but most I didn't so it was cool to chat with new people. We hung out in the karaoke room awhile, then was seated for dinner-- Sat with a bunch of guys, which was fine by me. We got sooo much food! There was lobster miso soup, beef wrapped around scallions, steak, chicken katsu, fried rice and noodles, lobster, kany salad, and so on... It was great. Really enjoyed getting to know everyone, and sharing such a good meal.

Ended well with ice cream and I got to try a bunch of flavors: Pistachio was the best. This was also around the time I was chatting it up with one of the waiters who I thought was pretty cute. I would've even considered dating him, and I have never thought that about an Asian! Then, I whispered to one gal I had just met that I thought he was cute and she proceeds to tell him! What the hell... What is she, like 5 years old. Who does that. Seriously.

Anyway, after the meal, we all went back to the large comfy room for karaoke, Rockband, talking, lounging on the couches and relaxing...
