This is my first foray into a Pieces of You prompt: If you were an animal, which would you be?

I disappear beneath the surface, the blue sheen of water covering sea creatures, moss, iridescent shells, kelp, sea stars, flounder, bubbles and swirls of color and shiny objects. Continuing to swim through the weightless liquid, savoring and loving the sensation of moving quickly through my aquatic wonderland and making little splashes and many sprinkles of foaming bubbles behind and around me. I glide with powerful strokes of my shimmering, glittering blue, purple and green tail, and arms; my raven dark hair swirling, streaming behind me. When feeling restless, I rise up to the surface and take a huge leap, suspended in the air feeling the triumph and exhilaration of being air-borne. A second later, I dive back into the cool depths of the sea, immersing myself in the comfortable surroundings.

If I were a mermaid, I would be the picture and definition of delicate, graceful, resplendent, enchanting, dazzling, elegant and brilliant.

For those who laugh snidely and claim You can't be a mermaid! They don't exist!!, I pity that you don't realize the truth, beauty and magic of a soaring imagination. Just think of me as a dolphin.
