Saturday I spent the day in Atlantic City. My first time. Had a lovely and fun-filled day! Hung out with C, Y, S, and a few others. We found a really good deal by taking the bus to Hilton where we got $30 back so basically the roundtrip ticket was only $5. The ride there was a bit long because of traffic, but we arrived and since we were hungry decided to just have the buffet at Hilton and turned out to be decently priced. Some of the items were really tasty, and I looved dessert. Especially the chocolate mousse, cakes and also got some very good coffee.
After eating, walked along the boardwalk to Cesaer's to meet with some other folks and did a bit of slot machine gambling. Afterwards, stopped by a huge It'Sugar candy shop then to the Bikini Bar, an outdoors bar with live music. It was really nice, and of course perfect summer weather. Also, got to meet some new people, which is always fun.
C and I left early to check out the beach. It was soo nice! I picked up seashells, and loved the feeling of sand on my bare feet. Also had a great time splashing in the water. It felt so good! Plus, the water was a great temperature, unlike in CA where it's always freezing. I wish I had brought my bikini-- Next time.
After the beach, we headed to the mall near Cesaer's and ran into JF which was cool. Did a circuit through the first floor, then headed to Bally's Blue Martini which was a truly beautiful bar, with lovely colors and an amazing live band above, including a hot sax player. And I looved the song choices they made. Ended up dancing with Y (whose background is salsa dance) for a bit. It was fun!
After awhile there, we headed to the outdoor Trump Tower Bar but decided we liked the other place better so returned to Bally's. Also had dinner of steak and eggs, bread, fries for about $7.77 each. Was happy to find that deal.
Wanted to check out the Borgata Hotel afterwards, because I've heard it's so pretty, but C and Y wanted to take the bus back to NY so I'll have to check it out next time. Anyway, we made it to where the buses would be and there was a huge line to go back to NY. We had to wait over an hour. Finally got on the 3rd bus that came.
Sunday was another busy day, albeit not quite as tiring. Met with LF, D, T, and M for ice skating at the Chelsea Piers. Started off holding D's hand and after not too long was able to go around without any help. Didn't fall once. It was so exhilirating to glide on the ice, until it became too scratchy but had a good run.
After skating, headed to the West Village for a $5 ice cream sundae at Murray's Cheeses. It wasn't a ton of ice cream, but it was soo well made and I used all the gourmet toppings: Chocolate and caramel sauce, sea salt, nuts, granola-- My, my it was delicious!
I ate the ice cream outside, because there were 4 African American singers with 1 bass player performing and they were sooo freaking good. They were on break when I walked out, and one of them started chatting me up. He wanted to take me out to dinner and asked me to take a chance (turns out he does have an actual job besides street performing), and he seemed really nice but I wasn't sure so he gave me his number so now it's my decision on what to do next. I stayed to hear them sing a few songs, and he kept pointing to me, and refering to me as his wife.
Then went over to Fat Black Pussycat which is a very nice bar to meet up with a bunch of friends to hang out and watch horror movies. We had the whole back area, with comfy couch seating and cool lights. Nice ambiance. I got a huge mug of Shirley Temple for $3, and had some good conversations with everyone, as well as meeting new people. We started off watching Hellraiser which I thought was quite good. It held my interest, and I definitely wanted to keep watching though was a bit disgusting... Then was The Thing which I didn't think was as good-- Got bored during some parts. Oh well, still had a nice time.
Most everyone left after the two movies, but T, G, and J stayed around and it was a hoot to chill with them. I did some dancing, posed for photographs, ate really delicious homemade potato chips, chatted, talked candidly about sex and about some future events. Good times!
