America's Got Talent, LIVE!
kitten-kissed on March 20, 2009 at 1:07 a.m.

So, it's back to being a bit cold and was a little rainy for awhile. I met with RS at Saints Alp for some bubble tea. I got the Choco Latte sorbie, and toasted bread with condensed milk and peanut butter. It was a wonderfullly delicious combo. I'll have to go back for a real meal, because everything on their menu is under $6! Quite awesome. So it was nice to see RS and chat awhile.

After hanging out with him, I headed to Union Square and browsed around Forever 21. I found some very nice lace tanktops. My favorite was a darker blue with black zebra stripes, and lace! However, they didn't have a medium and though the small fit, it was a little snug.

When I was done at Forever 21, headed to 34th St to get in line for taping of "America's Got Talent" show. I was the first to arrive, and PM came soon after then C. The others didn't come til a little later. By this time the rain had gone away, and we were just chilling in the line, making small talk with the people around us, and PM shared some of her turkey club from Quizno's with me. Pretty yummy! We had to eat it pretty quickly because they were letting us in (around 6p).

I was kind of in a hurry to get up to the balcony to snag great seats, so C and I went up first. I should've just waited with PM because somehow she got a pass to sit down below. Ugh, damn it! I deserved to be down there... I mean, I was the one who saved the spot in the line! Still, my seat was pretty darn good-- Was centered, and could see everything. The whole set up of the stage and everything was really awesome, and I loved all the glitter and lights.

This British guy (ohmygosh, his accent!) was getting the us (the crowd) all ready for the show, and was the entertainment between sets. Nick Canon was there as host, but he didn't come out too many times. The judges were: David Hasselhoff-- He's so hilarious, and still cute!; Sharon Osburne-- She's really sweet and reminds me of Paula Abdul; and Piers (a British dude) who is like Simon Cowell.

We got to see tons of acts; we were there for 4+ hours. They packed a lot in during that time. Basically, we were the 4th judge and so if we liked the act we cheered, stood up, whistled, clapped and if we didn't think it was good enough, we also stood up and made an X sign, boo'd them and cried "Off! Off" As for the judges, whenever they felt they didn't like it and had enough, would also X them out and if all three judges gave them the X-- Off they went! It was soooo much fun!

There was some amazing talent. I have a few favorites: The drumline band-- Great energy, real skill and fun/cute to watch. There was also the 3 African American singing siblings... They had this incredible and inspiring story to tell. I also enjoyed the gay choir, and a beautiful woman singing while playing the harp.

Of course there were also some awful ones, like most of the dancing, the acrobatic teams were not well received -- We let the first one go through but after that, no way! Oh, and there was this man and his floozie where he played and she sang in this awful fake voice and had a hula hoop-- Wow, we could tell when they first came out that they would be X'd.

For the most part, I agreed with the judges. Except for when they let the 16-year old pianist go through. They let him play snippets of three different songs... If he can't prove himself the first time, he should be out. It was hilarious though, because Sharon said he needs to get laid! Then the mother came out... What drama! It was great. And then there was this gorgeous African American man who would pass for a model, and he did a really cool dance number but they gave him a "No." Sigh. Maybe next time.

I had such a great time getting to see all of "America's Got Talent" tonight. I will have to go to more tapings of live shows!
