*living my dream life*
Beautiful Friday
kitten-kissed on July 11, 2008 at 2:37 p.m.

I had a wonderful day in the city yesterday. I wore the H&M purple and white spaghetti strap, ruche top dress. It looks really summer-y and sweet. Then headed out to meet FW- We went to Prospect Park in Brooklyn. It’s huge and lots to explore. We walked through most of it. Liked the lakes, swans, bridge, carousal and other pretty parts of the landscape.

At one point, this African American came up to me, introduced himself and claimed to be a psychic and he came here today to meet me; apparently I have good things in store for me. Okay, a bit weird but... Whatever floats his boat.

Anyway, I took plenty of pictures and enjoyed that FW was patient enough to take photos of me, and I even posed because he was treating me like a model. Fun!

After a few hours we left and on the way to the subway, I got some Italian Ice-- Red and blue flavors. OMG, it was so good. Especially in the humid heat… In the morning it was sort of breezy and nice, then the sun came full blast.

Back in Manhattan, I chilled inside air conditioned Bobst then headed down to Alphabet City to meet up with some friends at Sunburned Cow. Right as I was walking toward the front door, I notice a cutie with a light blue shirt on, talking to MM so I asked MM about it and he told me it’s the Australian (!) bartender. Ooh la la! He has sandy-ish colored hair and blue eyes. I went up there to order a drink and he was nice, but we didn’t really talk. Later on, my drink was almost gone and I wanted more grenadine and he just gave me a (free) refill, with plenty of cherries and orange/lemon slices on the side. That was sweet.

Everyone was trying to get me go over and talk to him, but I’m so not the kind to strike up a conversation with a guy, no matter how hot he is. But MM talked me up to him and his response?: “Aw, she’s hot, but I’m taken.” Then MM replied, “Tell me something I don’t know” (about me being hot!) Wow, I’m bummed that Mr. Bartender is not single, but delighted that he thought I looked good.

Anyway, I met KS’s friends and they were all awesome. At first I was mostly just chatting with KS and MM & DU (the two guys, what do you know!) because they were just so easy to open up to, especially MM. As the night progressed, I got to know the girls a bit better, especially bonded with AB so that was nice.

MM, MH and I went to the back to dance a bit. The music was hip hoppy rap and old school-- Not my favorite style but I still moved along. There was a white guy-- I noticed him, noticing me... and at one point he said “Bring it down, girl” but when I was standing by him at the bar and trying to smile at him, he didn’t look my way. Whatever.

After a bit we returned to our table near the windows. I took hold of DU’s hot sunglasses and tried them on. They actually didn’t look bad and we then began taking a bunch of pictures. It was great. I love crazy fun loving photos like these.

MM mentioned a birthday party coming up next Friday and invited me and I may go, even though I don’t know the birthday boy. There’s also something happening at Duvet (which I really want to check out) so I’ll have to figure out which one to attend… Maybe I’ll go to Taj (across the street rom Duvet) Saturday night (It’ll be free, since I’m on the list) and make people head over to Duvet afterwards.

As it got later, most everyone left, but AB and her friend stuck with me. AB seems really nice. We sometimes have the same taste in guys, and were swapping stories about encounters with men etc. We went to the back and started dancing awhile, then decided we were hungry. There are two places across the street: Chinese (was closed) and the other is a pizza & pasta place. I just went for pepperoni and sausage pizza-- It was delicious and they heated it up really good.

When done eating, the others decided they were pretty tired so we started walking back to their dorm-- Palladium. That’s a sweet place to live and close to lots of places. Very convenient. It was fun just walking around, talking and at one point, AB and I noticed this huge bug scuttling in front of us and being the crazy girls we are, we both screamed. This guy passed by and said “Tell your friends not to scream” to the gal who hadn’t and I got pissed about that. What if it was an emergency, something bad happened? Find out what’s going on before telling us what the fuck to do. Rolls eyes.

So got to their dorm, and the subway station was right there so went back to Flushing. Seemed like the train sure took its sweet time to come. And finally it did, even though it was on the wrong side of the track. As long as it takes me to Flushing Main, it’s all good. A couple of stops down the line, two hotties walked in and they sat diagonally from me. From Europe and with accents, but I couldn’t tell from where… I liked the guy with brown hair, Steve- style and blue eyes. He seemed like a really good friend as well, because the blond guy was distraught and brown-haired boy was comforting him, giving advice, counseling. I noticed that after their serious discussion, they both kind of looked over at me and they actually got off on the last stop like me, but went a different direction. Damn it!

Now I know why people joke that I’m in love with a different person each week. I almost feel like I fall for someone daily. And what I mean about that is not that I’m really in love with them, but I do get caught up in how guys look sometimes… And it’s a little crazy, because when I was with MS, I had eyes only for him from the moment I met him and to the moment he called it off. No joke.
