*living my dream life*
Busy, Busy

The beginning of the week was my internship at NYU Wagner (I work in the Puck Building -- It's really nice: Vast, cool, large windows, comfy seats.) I've been working on Alumni Communications Assessment and Strategy Plan. Also, finished putting together a few binders, complete with nice neat labels and titles on the side. There was another event for a bunch of international students on Tuesday and it moved from 5pm to 3pm so after I got back from lunch (found a little healthy deli-type place and got a chicken salad with honey mustard for only $4!) I had to help with set up, etc.

Monday evening, I met up with FM and we found a nice place to eat: Baluchi's Indian Food Restaurant. I got the combination of tikka chicken, shrimp, lamb and another type of chicken. It came sizzling on a hot plate with onions and bell peppers. Mmm, delicious! Also got Indian style fried potato and dipped it in FM's delightful masala curry(ish) sauce.

We had very good conversation. I told him about China, updated him on my status and stories of going out in the city. He talked about classes and how they ruin a perfectly fine summer and about life on the Upper West Side, where he lives.

After eating, we took a walk for awhile. Walked along 5th Avenue, which is a really nice neighborhood. Seeing all the dogs being walked, we naturally discussed dogs and animals, being in the city, past memories and so on.

Even though I'm not sure where I'll end up after grad school, I know there are only two choices that I'm willing to consider: NYC or LA. There are parts of each place that speak to me and I feel that I'm a mixture of both incredible cities.

While walking around Manhattan in the sweet evening-time summer air though, I could picture myself living here... Settled and with a dog of my own and a man by my side.

Last night I met up with a friend for some pepperoni pizza and we headed to Neutral Ground for some Apples to Apples (absolutely adore that game!) Not many people were there yet so we waited outside and I gazed at the hot, young blond haired blue eyed babe in front of me, with a pedicab. He actually took off his shirt as well, and it was just divine! My friend said he looked like a younger version of Ryan Gosling-- I could see that.

So we started Apples to Apples and it was great fun. I won the first round and all the other managed to get a few green cards and come close but didn't win again. Still, it was a great time and enjoyed getting to know everyone a little bit better. Partway through, TR ordered some Chinese food... I got the green onion pancake. Made very well: Crispy and thick. The last round of Apples to Apples, I got only two cards but were great descriptor: Hot and Fragile. DS said, "All the boys say you're hot and fragile." Hey, that's a compliment and actually quite accurate!

At one point when it was my turn to choose the card, I picked a green one that said "Beloved." Both DS and TR started and TR laughed, saying "Can I phone a friend." I know exactly who he's thinking of. Sigh.

After Apples to Apples, F had text'd with: "Hey there, you sexy fuckin vixen." Pretty hot. I talked about the text with AY and DS for a bit and they were funny... DS asked if I wanted to get laid (no, I don't need to) and told me not to be bashful and that he and AY will live vicariously through me. Haha! They then calculated how long it's been for them and speculated on me... Everyone thinks that MS and I had sex the first night. But I don't play like that.

Anyway, F picked me up in a cab and we stopped by his place so we could take his little puppy for a walk. This time she was a lot calmer and not barking, so that was good. We went over to the Plaza, and it looked very pretty-- Such a nice evening. Then back to the apartment, which is sweet by the way and laid out on the black leather couch and eventually to the bed but we didn't go far. He was complimenting me quite a bit though, calling me "hot and sexy" etc.

Since my flip flops were on the ground, the she-devil dog had chewed on it a bit and so we had to put blue tape on it. Not too attractive, but F agreed to buy another pair for me so he gave me some cash. So now I've got a bunch of one dollar bills and coins. Heh.

And that little puppy came to me while I was sitting on the couch and settled on my lap for awhile. She likes me! She's really sweet, despite manhandling my pretty shoes...

Went home after that and today went over to 9th Ave to meet KO and LR, my bosses for the LLR Consulting internship (they have fashion and lifestyle clients) We met at Soho House, a very swank hotel complete with a pool on the rooftop! It was nice meeting both of them and they told me some more about their company and it's very interesting and different. There are a couple of events in the making and no real office space, because they work from their home and I'll get to do that too. But, KO will go through everything I need to do thoroughly so I know everything I need to know to get the job done right.

Well, I got my first assignment today: Translate an Italian article to English and put the clippings together on one page then return the magazine to the owner. I did the translation and I'll head to Kinko's tomorrow to scan everything in.

Tonight I'm going over to the Upper West Side to join some buddies for small group, as well as a home-cooked meal and great conversation.
