I've had a fairly good week, with the exception of almost instigating a bar fight but a sweet stranger valiently defended me and backed me 100%.
The full story: Monday night karaoke at Midtown East. Started off fine, meeting some nice people, dancing and singing along, enjoying the song selection. As the night went on, someone came over to stand very close to me and look through the song book. I told him he could take it back with him, but he wouldn't budge from his place so I moved over. As he walked back to where he was sitting, he actually hit me!
Of course I got incredibly pissed, and said something like "Nobody hits me like that" then stormed to the back where he was and told him off, gave him some girly hits and then the bartender grabbed me and told me I had to leave. I kept repeating that he hit me first, but he didn't believe me, saying that he brushed past me by accident... Okay, I think I know what I felt on my own body! The only reason he wasn't kicking that guy out was because he was spending money. We got to the front, and the stranger (my hero) put his arm around me, listened to my side and proceeded to talk with the bartender for about 10 minutes and they allowed me to stay. Anyway, I still left not too long after that.
Tuesday night I stopped by Godiva and got their seasonal treat: Tiny ice cream cone with truffle on top. I chose the praline caramel, which was just divine. Soooo damn good! Also got some free samples, then met with MA whom I hadn't seen for quite awhile. It was great to catch up with him and hopefully won't be so long til I see him next.
After hanging out with MA, I headed to the Upper East Side to KM's apartment. It's really nice there. We watched a documentary called Faith Without Fear. I didn't actually get all of it, because I kept dozing off (really comfortable couch!) but what I did see was interesting and thought provoking. After the movie, KM and I chatted for awhile, then I headed back to Flushing.
T had called, and he has pretty consistently the past couple weeks which is nice. And he usually uses terms of endearment, like "cupcake"! When I was at karaoke, he told me he'll sing a song for me, a love song. Aww! The only thing is I haven't seen him much since he lives in Westchester so not sure when I'll get to meet up with him next.
Wednesday at my internship at Coburn Communication, there was a baby lion in the conference room! It was tiny, and so so adorable! Really playful too, and his human handler was smokin' hot too!
Right after work, I headed over to Pier 54 to meet with CS, A, and a bunch of new people that were fun to talk with. I told them the story of my almost bar fight and my adventures from the past week. A asked how I keep all the guys straight, and how I schedule my dates.. Haha! Anyway, we had a lovely little picnic of pizza, chips, cheese and crackers, chocolate, popcorn, and ice tea.
Then around 8:30p, the reason we were at the pier started: the movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona. It was quite good. Was all about the love relationships of the three ladies, and I was definitely taken in and found myself getting into it. I found myself being able to relate to certain qualities in Vicky and Cristina, and enjoyed the journey. However, the end kind of felt like it dropped off...
Thursday I was supposed to meet with D but she had cancelled which is fine but I wanted to set up a time for the next week and the only times she was suggesting was 2p. When I asked why so late, she replied that she didn't want to travel all the way into the city mad early when she's not going to stay the whole day. Ookay, then she coudln't talk for long because she was running out of minutes. Whatever.
I went to A's apartment down by Wall St for the evening. It was a writing theme, and C was there. Also met D, N, and a few others. Had a nice time chatting, did a free write, ordered pepperoni pizza with calzones and garlic knots-- Definitely satisfied with the meal. We then shared our free writes, and after that people who had brought their work read that. We finished with a read through of a play and ended the night with playing Scattegories. Much fun!
