Some crazy good times. With men.
Thursday night I met with D to see Hall & Oates at Asser Levy Seaside Park in Coney Island. I absolutely love Hall & Oates-- They are incredible live. Stood up the whole time along the fence so was not too far from them but wasn't able to get a full-on view of both of them. Still, was a ton of fun to sing along, dance to the songs. They played a lot of the ones I didn't know so well at first and came back two times, ending with "Rich Girl" "Kiss on my List" and "Private Eyes" which are definite favorites especially the last one.
Friday I finally got to see BM. He was having a bunch of friends over for drinks, relaxing and conversation on the sundeck-- A gorgeous space, and lovely view of the street. I got to meet his new boyfriend (which came as a bit of a shock, but he does seem happier now) who I liked - He does marketing in fashion which is awesome. He was sweet, easy to talk to...
So we were on the sundeck til they kicked us off at 10p, closing time. So the rest of the group went out and I stayed with BM, IL, P and M for awhile then we all left after visiting T and J. I actually found out from P and M that BM is actually gay (of course I never thought that, and didn't listen to friends who suggested he might be) which actually makes a lot of sense now. M said he must've been in the transition phase when I met him. I kinda wish he was more upfront with me and didn't play so many games. It would've been soo much easier if I had known that little fact. I mean, I wouldn't have agonized so freaking much!
So, we left probably after 11p, and I was set on going to Hudson Terrace which isn't that far anyway so we went but there was a line and it wasn't really budging. We decided to go to Bourbon St, a nearby bar that isn't quite so hard to get into and the group that left earlier didn't get into Hudson either. I will just have to visit it another time because I do hear that it's amazing.
Saturday I woke up semi-early to meet a couple of people at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, which is free on Sats before noon. It was a treat to walk through. Loved the nice flowers, a tropical greenhouse part, lily ponds, Japanese inspired area, turtles, roses, an area where everything was scented. Lovely.
Later in the day I had a classic Hollywood party to go to near Union Square so I went in a gorgeous turquoise halter dress; matching eyeshadow and necklace; fierce gold leopard platform heels; and a gold & silver tiara that completed the Princess look. I love dressing up! Met up with M and we went to the party together... First stop, in the side room to get a drink (and the bartender, DB was kinda cute). Then the living room where I met a couple of new people who were all very friendly, and cool to talk with. After that, in the outdoor garden backyard which was just lovely where the food was. Pretty darn good!
There were some people I know, and others that I met as well as the charming host and cute little white maltese dog! She's adorable and I loved holding her. I had a good time chatting with blondie R who controlled the music and played anything I wanted to hear. We did a bit of dancing as well. There was also some poker. Unfortunately, I didn't have much good luck with that. Oh well.
I took a break from all the mingling to chat with T (whom I hadn't seen for weeks!) outside in the front. It was nice to girl-talk for awhile. She's very perceptive, and asks hard questions.
Then met some newcomers, and we re-joined the party. The one or two gals I had been friendly with left early so I spent most of the rest of the time with guys at the bar. I started chatting DB (who was the bartender in the beginning) and he was definitely easier to talk to at this point. He became friendly, leaning against me and resting his arm on my knee. Also chatted with anyone who came in to get drinks, then closed it up at 2am and DB and I went to the backyard where everyone was talking up a storm.
I started a conversation with K, a fairly good looking dark haired guy with blue eyes. I found it incredibly easy to talk with him. In about half hour, I told him more about my family then I've told anyone else in my life. He's just an incredibly avid listener, and I felt very comfortable with him. Was able to talk to him at length about PR, music, Idyllwild Arts Academy (he was a student there-- Violinist), fashion and the 5th Av Empiro Armani store which has awesome structure and this staircase inside that's a perfect runway-- I feel like a model walking it.)
And, was able to lay down between him and DB, resting my head on K's lap and legs on DB's. Was a lot of fun to chat with both of them, and enjoyed the 80's music in the background. After awhile of chatting, while Hall & Oates' "Private Eyes" DB made it a point to look down on me and I returned the gaze so after a little bit, we were kissing... He was pretty gentle, but good. He wanted to leave but I knew if I did, I wouldn't get home til super late and I have to be in the city for brunch so I had already decided to crash at J's apartment.
So, half the people left around 4a, while DB, K, T, JC and I stayed. T and I were the only girls, and that was fine by me. She's a lot of fun and pretty hilarous and I get along with her well, so I'm glad it was her who stayed. I was sandwiched between K and DB on the fold out couch, and K did try to kiss me more but I didn't want it to get out of hand so I refuted his efforts. We were awake for quite a bit longer though, because T and I kept giggling and making silly comments. Finally, K left because he didn't have much room on the couch, but he gave me a kiss on the lips before leaving.
So, I slept next to DB and to be quite honest, we ddin't do a whole lot of sleeping. He came close to me, and put his arms around me, held me which was nice. We didn't kiss til a couple of hours later (and I know he saw me and K kissing, so not really sure what's going on, but yea) but after the first touch of the lips, continued on that vein for awhile... Pretty nice if I do say so myself.
