Crazy Fun!
kitten-kissed on July 17, 2008 at 1:18 p.m.

I went to bed at 7AM today from my crazy fun day yesterday. It started off at Garrett’s Popcorn at 5th Avenue where I got some free Popcornsicle, which is frozen (caramel flavor) popcorn on a stick, thought up by a “Top Chef” contestant, who was actually there passing it out!

Afterwards, headed over at 14th St to meet up with ST for some Red Mango. My 3 add-ins were mango, strawberry and mochi. It was great to see ST again and I told him all about my summer to California and Shanghai, how I’ve been back in NYC and everything. He’s a really good listener and also pretty sensitive so it was great to spend time with him. When done eating our frozen yogurt we went to Korea-town and were going to get delicious lunch specials, but it was past 3pm. Darn! So instead we went in one place and ordered appetizers. I picked the shrimp tempura, which also came with vegetable tempura. Very well made.

Then, since we were by Neutral Ground, headed that way and there are actually some really nice dress shops on that street, which I’ve never noticed before because I’ve always gone to NG at night. We stopped by a few of them, but most were too pricey until I found an outdoor rack of $10 items! That’s what I’m talking about. I bought a too cute, really short khaki colored dress with a detachable black belt and a black shirt with animal print sleeves and neck.

Next, headed to Bloomingdales on 3rd Avenue, for French Connection and ELLE (the magazine, of course) Midsummer Night’s Chic… I actually should have gotten there half an hour earlier because the cast of RENT was there. I asked someone about it and they had sung 5 songs and were now signing autographs (but the line was too long for me!) However, said someone told me that they will be coming to Bryant Park next month to do a free show again and I will get there hours in advance to see them and get their autographs. You can plan on it. But, yea I saw the cast and man are they hot! And, so sweet and friendly. Next time, I will actually meet them and talk to them!

I had a good time at the Midsummer Night’s Chic event. There was sparkling water, fruit tarts, lemon chocolate and raspberry, cute men (probably gay) serving, a DJ, fashion show and free makeovers. I was wearing a strapless, ruche top light green-ish dress so the makeup artist (she was so good) just matched my eye makeup to the dress. She also did a fantastic job on the eyeliner and mascara.

I was debating what to do next, so I called up a few people but no plans finalized so I just went back to Neutral Ground where I knew ST and DS would be. I chatted with ST briefly then he had to start in a Magic tournament (seriously, main level, only one girl: Me, of course!) so I went over to talk with DS who was on break and then had to go back to work. Oh well.

I was kind of bored for a little bit because I have no interest in Magic, but ST didn’t continue to play because he lost one of the guys so there was no chance for him to get first place. So went back to hanging around and conversing with him. We looked at some of the crazy games the store has. It was fun to read about them.

At one point I wanted the Nantucket Nectars half lemonaide and half iced tea because it sounded good but I didn’t want to spend cash so I ran around trying to find a way to spend $5 because that’s the minimum. Afterwards, E gave me a free piece of candy because I’m “charming and bring a pleasant presence to the store.” Aw, that was really sweet of him to say!

ST and I went back to the tables and met the rest of the guys who were still there. They’re all pretty darn cool and easy to talk with. I sat by M (who I think is pretty cute) so was getting a little touchy feely with him and getting sassy as hell, and flirty -- Like my usual self again. He was playing it too though and I mentioned Karaoke (tonight at West Village!)… Was trying to get everyone to go. Only P (he's Colombian, Italian and Irish =) and ST joined me; the others had plans of watching Batman or sleep.

But anyway, had a lovely time at the store-- laughing it up, getting to know everyone, saying crazy things (like “I’d rather be in a long term relationship with Jake” when discussing the benefits of Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllanhaal… I just feel that Ledger’s more of a player and I don’t want to deal with that. Incredibly hot though; much more so than Jake but Jake’s got those amazing eyes!) Ooh, want to hear something amazing? When I first came to NY in January, I told everyone I couldn’t find a lot of guys with blue eyes (my favorite) and now they’re everywhere. I’m sorted!

So we left Neutral at midnight and walked over to Bryant Park station to get to Greewich Village. Along the way to Wicked Willy’s, passed by that gorgeous glowing fountain but my stupid batteries (in the camera) decided to die when I tried to take a picture. Grr!

We found the place easily and it was packed. And this time, the host was hot! He slipped by me a few times, coming up against me and we made eye contact (a few times actually) for a few seconds, which to me, means something. Not so with everyone else. So, anyway I had a great time despite not getting with him and though I didn’t love every single song, was still dancing it up and talking to people. Apparently, I win the hotness/pretty contest because my eyes match my dress and no one else did that. Haha!

So, I took two jello shots again. They are amazing.

A little bit toward the end, P and I kind of started dancing. He had his arm around me and it was cool. Though, when it was all over and we were walking outside, we held hands for a bit and I don’t know if it felt right. I didn’t say anything though. He knows MS (in fact, most Neutral-Grounders know him. AH!) so I couldn’t say anything.

Well, P took the 7-train with me because he could still get home that way and that was so nice of him. I really enjoyed the company (especially when were sitting on the Grand-Central track for like 20 minutes). P seems like a cool person.. He works at the Queens Center Mall at Applebee’s-- Cooks for them. Nice. He also owns a limo company (and a house) out in FL! He’s actually going next month (roundtrip airfare is like $89! Hot damn!) and invited me. We’ll see. I am, however going to Chicago at the end of this month-- We’re driving, which should prove to be fun and interesting and lots of loud music!

P told me the story of how he got on the Tyra Banks show. They actually came to Neutral Ground to film a segment called “Unusual Places to begin Relationships” (something like that). I can relate.

Finally in Flushing a little before 6AM and we stopped by Dunkin Donuts because I was smelling the bakery truck. Enjoyed my chocolate crème donut and the music!

Okay, so went to bed for a few hours and then Kelly calls. I automatically think she’s my friend from Philly, but it’s actually my supervisor for my 2nd internship (the boutique PR firm with fashion clients) and she asks if I have time to work on a project today for a few hours. Actually, I didn’t have plans for the daytime so I told her I could. So now I have to check my email and figure out the project. I hope it’s easy. Okay, there's going to be a project for their jewelry design client (Manju Jasty) coming up on Tuesday. That's doable.

Hm, some guy just instant messaged me... Some guy I have no recollection of meeting, much less telling him my screen name info. He asked if I had that "jealous boyfriend"... Apparently, some Asian guy (I've never been with an Asian guy! The closest is Philippino) was threatening him and the guy who IM'd me was two seconds away from calling the cops. Shit, I csnnot believe that someone was pretending to be my boyfriend! That's hell to the no... What the heck?! I guess some people are just worldclass assholes.

So, tonight I’m going to Brooklyn for Flynn’s party and we’re dropping 80’s and 90’s tunes. Hell yea baby!
