Sunday I had a delightful time in Brooklyn-- Around Williamsburg and Greenpoint. First, met everyone at the Brooklyn Brewery to hear about how beer is made and even though I don't drink, it was still pretty interesting. Plus, TA, R, VJ, C, R, E and L were there and that's where we agreed to meet so of course I wanted to see them and as usual, met a couple of other guys which is always nice. The talk about Brooklyn Brewery didn't take too long, and after we went back to the seated places and just chatted away for a bit.
After that headed to a nearby art gallery that was all right. There was a huge cube of ice from Alaska and a ball hanging in the middle of the room with little TV screens all around it and you can see the people directly across from you. Quite ingenius.
We were all pretty hungry at this point, so tried to find a place that would seat all of us. The first restaurant we came across was too crowded, but then we found a Thai place called Sea. It was absolutely beautiful! Just really calming, serene with water, statue, flowers, etc. I ordered an ice tea, fried dumplings and pad thai with chicken and shrimp. All so good!
A few people left, so there were about 6 of that stayed to hang out for longer. We strolled around awhile, checked out some shops and then we found a little wine place, and sat outside just enjoying the day. It certainly had a different feel from crazy Manhattan, and I think we all benefited from the calm and European feel.
We got some ice cream (coffee on sugar cone) then walked back to the car and I went with C and VJ back into the city to catch I Love You Man. It didn't take too long to find parking and the movie was playing at an AMC so got to see it free. It was a really hilarious movie and entertaining mostly but I didn't think it was that great. Still, was fun to watch.
So, it's Monday and totally felt that I didn't want to go to class but it was actually the professor who canceled-- She's sick, which sucks but I'm so very glad I got the night off. I headed to meet S and friends at 1849 on Bleecker. They were serving 20 cent wings. I've had better, but was still pretty good and I got a huge basket of fries for only $4!
Anyway, P and L were there and met about three other guys. One of them used to be Barbara S's manager, and he's worked with a few others as well. He was an older guy who imparted some advice to me and the other guy was definitely trying to go out with me. (I wasn't interested) So, I joined S and the others upstairs but we went right back down where there was more spcae. I got to see K and H again, which was cool. I like them a lot.
There were about 5 people left in the end, and that's when the conversation got interesting. It's when we got on the topic of men and women, relationships and sex. Started off with what we want in the opposite sex and then took off from there. I talked about BM and my encounter with LA-- I do want to see him again, but he hasn't called yet and it's annoying. I just might call him soon even though he should be the one to do that!
Afterwards, K said he could give me a ride to the subway and then he was saying he could drive me all the way home (even though he lives in Brooklyn!) Truly, I never ever tell or ask guys to bring me back to Flushing; they just always offer. I felt bad but he told me he wouldn't have done it if he didn't want to. And I think he tried to ask me out on a date... I'll hang out with him. When we were almost at the apartment, he went down the wrong street and said "It was worth it to spend one more minute with you." Aww!
