So I have been enjoying free time during spring break, but am still doing some work such as going on interviews, researching businesses that might have great narratives for the UN Global Compact and today, writing the employee letter for PR Writing II. I have also been somewhere every night.
Monday I met with a few people at an uptown apartment, learning about a health program and I must admit the results sound pretty amazing: Losing weight, having a glow, feeling better. I just don't know if I want to invest in this stuff and then have to take it for the rest of my life in order to keep getting all the benefits. I did have a good time meeting some new people, and trying some happy chocolate which was divine
Tuesday was St. Patrick's Day. I spent the day in the city, and went on two interviews then wandered around Union Square area. I had a fun time browsing through the outdoor market. It was fun to sample delicious fruit, jams, and bread.
Then, met up with PM and S at Dukes which was closeby. I had been to the Dukes in midtown, but never tried their food. I ordered the onion rings with chicken, cheddar cheese and jalepeno mayo. Oh my goodness, there was sooo much of it and absolutely satisfying delicious! After our fattening meal, we walked it off and headed down to W. 4th but the bar wasn't open yet and we didn't want to wait, so left.
I would've been down with going out, but most of my friends have work the next day, were already home, or not answering their phones so I just called it a night. Besides, St. Patrick's is really just a drinking holiday, and I don't drink so it's pointless. However, if BM or EA were here, would totally have joined them but one's in Mexico and the other Chicago. Sigh.
It was such a nice day out today. I love that the weather is getting warmer, and nights aren't totally freezing. I went to Blue Chili for F's birthday celebration. It was nice to see him, and meet a couple of his buddies. I got along with everyone, especially some of the guys: D and A. They were my dinner buddies. We shared everything: Duck spring roll, pad thai, and roast duck with flat noodles, onions and egg. Yum! I also had a couple of Thai Iced Teas-- So good!
After eating, G "the living carpet" set up outside, and did a demo: He had 9 girls stand on top of him, and he was fine! Pretty crazy. Soon after the stunt, F got the back room upstairs open for us, and we had a great DJ from MTV Spring Break! I looved all the songs he played, and got to talk with A some more. Also, a couple new people showed up so had a nice time chatting with everyone. And later we had some more food: Shrimp in fried wonton and fried salmon balls. Later, I left with D and one gal with D's friend who is a taxicab driver so he got us all home to Flushing. Niiice!
