After class on Monday I met up with HV and we got to catch up with each others' lives. We went to karaoke at Joshua Tree West and met a few people there. They're pretty cool. I enjoyed my time there. Joshua Tree West is a really nice place, and people knew how to pick good songs. I also ordered some very good cheese fries and got to know K. And tried to talk with the Irish bartender, but close up realized he was a bit older than I thought.
HV had invited me to see a play (free!) Tuesday night called Underground. It was all right. Pretty interesting, some good and funny moments/dialogue, kind of cute. Afterwards, I was debating whether to go to the fire fighter show by myself. Decided to stick wtih HV and we found Screme, a gelato place. Got to try half the flavors and picked chocolate covered strawberry. Soo damn good. And made eyes with the cop standing in the corner, he gave me this head nod acknowledgment and a smile. Too bad he didn't look as good when he took off his hat...
HV and I headed uptown to Clearview Cinemas where she got both of us in for free! We watched Surrogates which was quite intense, interesting and makes you think. Not bad.
Wednesday I had dinner at my friend's apartment. There was squash soup, bread, and sweet pecans. Hung out with all guys for the majority of the night.
I met up with BD Thursday evening in the Upper East Side. He gave me this huge hug that almost knocked me over. Aww! We went to the Stumble Inn to chat and catch up a little. We were very tempted to get quesidilla and fries but we were meeting with a few of his friends later for Persian food. We weren't sure if we would enjoy that type of cuisine (or if it would be inexpensive), so promised each other if it wasn't good, we'd come back to Stumble Inn for fried American food...
So we got to Shalizar and it was a really nice place. Entree was around $15-20 so not tooo bad. I decided to get a full meal (instead of just appetizer or dessert) and went for the roasted chicken, basmalti rice wtih fava beans and dill. It came out beauitful, and was quite good.
Afterwards, we went to a couple of places. First checked out a piano bar but wasn't really happening so headed to the Auction House, which is a huge place, darkened, red couches, atmospheric and cool but no chairs available. So we just settled at a nice wine bar, and sat outside. Had a good time just chilling and chatting.
Friday I had lunch with S and hanging out with her is always such fun! We have a great time taking pictures, talking, and laughing together. I suggested Tea & Sympathy, a really cute place with delicious British food. I got the yummy chicken and sausage, salad, roasted potatoes. It was so good. And even got dessert-- Chocolate cake in warm custard! Mmm... And a cutie who sat by us, looked like Prince William! I will definitely come back (even though the first waitress ticked us off in the beginning)
I met up with CM for dinner, but first had a bit of time to check out Forever 21. I got a lacy brown and light blue skirt with jewel brooch but will probably switch it for a dress later. Anyway, we got food at m2m- I opted for the shrimp tempura soba noodles. Pretty good, and something healthy for once!
After eating, I headed uptown a little to meet with EK. It was great to hang out! We went to 230 Fifth Ave, and then to Crocodile Lounge (for the free pizza deal) and by this time my brown boots were hurting so didn't enjoy standing around. We spotted quite a few cute boys, but they were so engrossed in their conversations that none of them really came up to us. The one guy who did start a conversation with us was from out of town, so not interested.
However, when we got outside we got hit on and EK found someone so we went to Beauty Bar for a drink and to dance a bit. One guy asked if I wanted to dance, and said I was very pretty so he wanted to dance with me. But then he went elsewhere (to the bar probably) and said he'd dance with me when he came back. EK and I left before that happened.
Saturday had lunch with MC. We found a Korean place that had lunch special going on so I got the rice in a hot stone pot, with chicken and plenty of veggies. Yum! It was good to see MC, and tell her all my recent stories.
I stopped by Forever 21 after eating, and found a bunch of cute dresses. Both the line for changing room and purchasing took too long, but I found this gorgeous little strapless black and silver dress with a zipper going down the middle, as well as zipper detail on the sides and little bit of black tulle under the skirt. It looks both sexxy and sweet. Can't wait to wear it out!
I then went to Kolache Mama by Grand Central- it's a special type of snack that's popular in Texas. Met up with A, L, and was introduced to several more people. They seemed pretty cool. I got two dessert kolaches-- An apple one and a chocolate one... Very good. Will have to try savory next time.
Afterwards, I suggested we go see Couples Retreat and S/W were in. Some of the guys walked with us to the theater, but decided not to watch it with us since it's such a chick flick. I thought it was quite funny and really cute. I enjoyed watching it.
Then I decided to stay at the theater and catch Jennifer's Body. Even though everyone says it sucked, I still wanted to see it. I actually thought it wasn't too bad. Much better than Sorority Row. I mean it actually had a storyline and in its own twisted way, made sense.
