Tonight: A Fire Fighter charity event. Need to find more parties with firemen in attendance...
Earlier this week I got to check out the MOMA with EL for free using his aunt's guest passes. That was a real treat. We went through all the floors and were able to cover pretty much every exhibit, room, nook and cranny. It was a lot of fun. I really liked the upper levels and the reflective light material show.
After that, met up with some folks for dinner in Chinatown. We had soo many great dishes and shared them all which is always fun. There was sweet and sour meat, jumbo shrimp and onions in black bean sauce, Cantonese fried chicken, roasted pork, lobster, tofu, grouper fish with green beans and meat, more. Had lively and interesting conversation.
Afterwards, stopped by Chinatown Ice Cream Factory and I had some black sesame flavor. Sooo damn good!
Most people parted ways after dessert, but I continued hanging out with MT and R. We walked to the Lower East Side, and hung out at One and One at the bar. The guys asked me questions about my dream life, job, and all that. It was fun to answer. Also told jokes, asked would you rather questions, discussed newsworthy items.
Then, before leaving I had to use the restroom, as did MT. At the stairs, he commented that I didn't like the kiss and I wasn't sure how to respond because I didn't want to hurt his feelings. And then he tried to kiss me again! I thought I already told him I only see him as a friend! So I didn't let the kiss happen, but he wouldn't let me go through at first. WTF!?
Still went to the next place with them by St Marks Place. I had a Shirley Temple (of course) and we shared wings. They were all right. At this place we talked about tattoos, piercings, weird things etc.
Now, onto tonight. I went to a Salute to Fire Fighters charity event in the Upper East Side. I arrived pretty much on time, and found R as well as L who brought a friend who was cool. We listened to the live band, got free drinks, chatted with a Navy guy, tried to listen to the speeches, and then EK arrived. It was great to see her, as always. We noticed a slew of uniformed firemen come in, so followed them. However, they didn't stay inside long and I didn't get a picture with them.
Then M found us, and she suggested we go up front to find the firemen. Of course I was game, but EK stayed where she was because she wanted to chat with one guy in particular. M and I were searching the room, and finally noticed that all the firemen were right outside! So, went outside and I chatted with them. Got my photo, and then M really wanted to sit in the firetruck so we asked the (hot) fire fighter near the truck and he let us on! I love being up so high. It feels quite nice, and cosy. We also got to put their (very heavy) helmets on!
After we got down, chatted a little with the hot fire fighter but M was kind of dominating the converastion. Oh well. We were about to go back in together, but then she started this long conversation with another guy and I'm not one to wait around, so just went back in. I found EK and she had been talking with the guy she was into the whole time, so good for her! He's also a fireman (Brooklyn).
So, EK and I danced awhile to the clubby hit songs. She also continued flirting with the guy so I felt a little left out at times.
Then at one point, he was holding her hand and dnacing... After a minute, he held his hand out to me. I hesitated, wanting to see EK's reaction and she seemed fine so I took his hand and kept dancing. Only for a second though, then EK walked away from him, calling him an asshole. She thought he had done that because he wanted to try to get with both of us, when I was sure it was just because he wanted to include me. (And that's exactly what he said when she confronted him about it-- I thought it was really ballsy for her to express all that honesty but more power to her!)
Anyway, he was supposed to introduce me to his friend, who was kind of cute, but he wouldn't come down to talk to us. How strange is that. So then of course I didn't want to stay to just watch EK and C together so EK walked with me to the subway station which gave us a chance to talk about the guy, and how our week was.
