This past weekend was beautiful. It was so nice and warm. Like paradise.
So, kicked off the weekend right Friday night by meeting MS and all of her friends at sn Italian restaurant called Ectera Ectera. It was really and fancy. We got our own room upstairs, and it was just lovely. Also quite romantic with the candles, pink roses, and soft white, light colored motif.
I sat by MS, the birthday girl, and really enjoyed meeting her friends. I spoke mostly with A, L, A, and a couple of others. Everyone was pretty nice, funny, and fun. We all shared the food as well, which I loved. I got the pasta with lamb balls, tomato, argula, and tried the steak, a few different pastas, risotto, dumpling, and veal. Dessert was pineapple, cantelope balls in the shape of flowers and chocolate sauce. Plus, the red velvet and buttercream vanilla frosting. Quite delicious!
After eating, we had to hurry to Hiro (club, connected to the Maritime Hotel) to get there before 11p for free entry. A drove us there, and we did arrive before 11, however were waiting for the others to come and didn't get to the main doors until 11:15p so the bitches charged us $15! Damn, I have never paid that much to get in anywhere... I met a couple more buddies of MS and started dancing with M but we didn't stay too long. A didn't want to pay the cover, so we decided to go to a rooftop at 230 Fifth Ave.
A drove us to the rooftop, and I now have a new favorite hotspot. It's such a beautiful place. There's a sweet lounge dance-y area, and upstairs is the rooftop with view of Empire State Building, MetLife, everything, and little Christmas lights, benches. The view is absolutely stunning. The girls got cold (even though we got complimentary red robes and blankets) so I stayed on the rooftop with the six guys, danced it up then we went back inside to join the others.
On my way to the restroom, one of the guys intercepted me and he was pretty cute, and Italian-- I loved his accent, and when he spoke in Italian... It was so wonderful, but he wasn't a very good dancer and I was into his body. He was kind of sweet, wanted to hug me and kept trying to hug me but I wasn't feeling so went back to my friends. We left around 3a, and since A, MS, and a couple others live in Flushing, I got a ride back to my place!
Saturday I met up with MC at Berry Bistro for some lunch. It was a really cute place, and really amazing food. I got the burger with muenster cheese, and fries. Yum! Had a nice time with MC, as usual. There was plenty to talk about, and we walked to her dorm afterwards and ended up taking a nap at the lounge.
After that, I headed to the Brooklyn Musuem-- It's free on First Saturdays. I'm really glad I went. I had the chance to look through all five floors of amazing art, special exhibits, model houses and rooms, great paintings, modern and contemporary, Asian, Egyptian, and so much more. I then met up with Tko, S, and a bunch of others. Went with a small group to get a bite to meet a couple of blocks away, at Cafe Shane and actually ended up meeting Shane! He was really cool, chill and nice. I got the chicken wings-- Mmm, so good!
Back to the musuem, and I went around with Tko, C, S and B then we went to the dance party on the 3rd floor. It was a really nice space, glowing lights, tons of people. Pretty cool.
We left around 11p, and I took the train to the Upper East Side to meet with F, I, K and friends. They were at a bar that was all right. Some of the music was good, while other songs were ehh. So, danced for awhile, then took a break and sat/talked with F. We left around 3a, and K had driven so I just went back with F and I-- Decided to crash at their place. They live in a house in the Bronx-- It was nice. I enjoyed some apple and pear, then we watched American Psycho but I missed the last part so will have to see it some other time... Slept in F's bed, which was very comfortable.
Sunday morning we got up before 11a, because F and friends were going to bike around Central Park. They dropped me off in the city, and I chilled at Barnes & Noble for a bit to read Cosmopolitan and Glamour (with Katie Holmes on the cover) which are such fun magazines, then headed to Stone Creek to meet up with a bunch of people and play boardgames. It was really fun, and got to meet a lot of new people. First, played Uno then Scattegories which is super fun and I had a teammate so that made it a bit easier. After that, I participated in Taboo which I wasn't sure if I'd be good at but I turned out to be awesome at it! Our team won by tons of points. Hah!
Late afternoon everyone started to go on their way, and I met this guy (A) who agreed to go with me to see a movie at City Grace church. We had two hours to kill, so sat at Washington Square Park, admired the too cute dogs and puppies, chatted about meetup experiences, friendships, relationships, going out, and so much else. It was really fun to talk with him, but he wasn't able to stay and see the movie. And actually there was no movie because I went to the place, and there was a meditiation event going on there. So weird, but I ended up talking with S and B for quite awhile, and will probably go to one of their events another time and I got to have some samosas, veggie with hummus and chai tea. Plus, I had people to commute back to Queens with. So even though I didn't get to see the movie, the trip was still worth it.
