I've been busy, enjoying the company of cool people and making new friends!
Thursday night I went out in the Lower East Side. Met a couple of people and ran into K again. We all chatted amongst ourselves for awhile then headed to Sunburnt Cow, a nearby bar. K was hungry so he got the 3-course dinner deal (only $18) and shared with me, which was very nice. I mostly talked with K, NB and B-- the three guys that were there but the gals were cool for the most part.
I ended up getting a ride back home from K which was much appreciated. I was talking to him about how I want to be with someone, but he told me it wouldn't work at this point in my life. Acting like a shrink, he told me that right now I'm not mature enough and I want so much to be the center of attention, etc that one guy can't give me it. So I should just have fun and enjoy life.
Then, as he continued driving, he reached over toe hold me hand. And when we got to my apartment and he reached over for a hug, and didn't let go... He leaned over and tried to kiss me-- Several times. I turned my head away because I didn't really feel it, and he said "I can make you feel wanted too" and other weird things. It was strange. I guess I always knew he felt attracted toward me, but I didn't think he was going to act on that and after saying to me all those things, he's definitely sending mixed signals.
Friday turned out to be a great day. I went to the Swedish Midsummer Festival at Robert F Wagner park downtown. I met with EH, Y, and a cute guy from Vancouver who just happened to be at the meeting spot so we invited him along. Got to the park, and was quite crowded but we found a place in the grass, and enjoyed snacks: Chips and hummus, strawberries, crackers and Italian cheese, some Reisling, and grapes. I went with S (the cute Canadian) to get something to drink-- Lemonaide was only $2! Was very happy to have it.
A few others joined us later on, like C, MM, and a hot Brazilian who was shirtless.. He's a personal trainer and fighter. I got to talk with him a bit. Maybe I'll see him again.
After the picnic, I went over to Astoria for MG's big party. There were a good number of people there, and was able to meet everyone really quickly and easily. They were mostly Baruch students or graduates; all very smart and most were well traveled which I liked. Everyone was friendly, interesting and fun to be around. I had a great time!
I enjoyed Mike's hard lemonaide, chips, and chicken mcnuggets that L brought back. Had a fun time chatting with all, though msotly talked with the guys. We talked about all sorts of things from happy endings, to travel, to sex, to movies, and so on. I helped out at Beer Pong for a little bit. And danced it up to the great music.
After awhile, the party moved over to MG's bedroom for some reason. We were all just chilling, having a nice time chatting. Then it was back to the living room area and I met G, a cute blond Russian. He was playing Beer Pong and credited me when he got better, so I was good luck for him. Nice!
Most people left around 1a or 2a, but AJ and I were still completely awake. We decided to bake some chocolate chip cookies, and share it with the people who were here. They appreciated it immensely, and then there were only maybe 5 of us left with me being the only girl. We just talked about whatever and then around 6a, AJ and I shared the comfortable pink bed and went to sleep.
Saturday was pretty rainy but was set on going to the Mermaid Parade, and AJ came with. On the way the the subway, we stopped by a bagel shop. I got chicken salad with tomato and lettuce in a seasame seed bagel. Was really good.
So, I was to meet RG at Queensboro Plaza (so we could go to the Mermaid Parade together) and was able to find her pretty easily so that was good. We had a good time chatting, and was able to get some girl talk in even though AJ was there. I'm glad I had company because the ride to Coney Island took forever!
Finally got there and we went over to Keyspan park to meet a couple other people. We weren't able to find them at first, but then they came around. Took a walk to Nathans (famous for their hot dogs) and AJ and I decided to get some food so lost track of the others but were able to find them again at Cha Cha's (a bar). RB came into Coney Island for the Parade so I was able to find him at Nathan's. It was nice to see him again!
I got the bacon cheese hot dog and AJ shared his lemonaide and fries. Yum! After ordering, we went to the bar to be with the others and ate there. I met J, a good looking African American guy who was nice and sociable. SH was also there with his girl who was pretty cool.
Anyway, after eating, it was around time for the parade to start so we went outside and got a really good view. The parade was a lot of fun: I saw some really pretty costumes, and cool floats, dance moves and music. Though some people were not dressed like they were from the sea. And there were gaps during the parade because the procession was slow but still had a good time. Also, during the parade it wasn't really raining so that was nice.
Toward the end, AJ, RS and J wanted to get to the other side so we walked through part of the parade. I enjoyed it! I totally did the model catwalk, and RB even complimented me on it. Then the parade was over so we went back into Manhattan...
We went to Union Sq and AJ had agreed to see Up with me so I was happy. We grabbed some snacks from Duane Reade and found out that the earlier shows of Up were sold out, so we had to get the 8p time. Though it turned out to be fine because we decided to get food at Max Brenner's. We got really thick hot chocolate and the sharing chocolate fondue with banana waffle, strawberries, marshmallows, banana, pop rock candy in chocolate, choco peanut butter, a bit of ice cream... Wow, was it decadent and delicious!
By the time we were done with dinner, we had to go back to the theater to see Up so we could get good seats. We sat on the uppermost row, and it was such a nice spot! I really enjoyed the movie. The beginning was sad and there was another part that made me teary eyed but all in all it was really funny and cute. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also appreciated AJ's company (he's easy and fun to talk with) and that he paid for the 3D Up movie as well as our chocolate-y dinner!
During Up AJ moved my hand to rest on his leg and he was stroking my bare legs (had miniskirt on) for awhile. It felt nice. He continued to do that while we snuck into Angels and Demons (I decided to see it again because I had slept through all the middle part before) and went a bit further too. My head was on his shoulder most of the time. Was pretty comfortable.
So, had a lot of fun with AJ and by this time we were pretty tired so went back to our respective homes. He had to take the 7 train most of the way since he lives in Regal Park.
When I was back in Flushing, while I was waiting for the bus one guy started a conversation with me and he seemed pretty cool and kinda cute. He asked if I was ballet dancer because he had seen someone who looked like me then we went on to talk about movies and what we did over the weekend. Then the bus came, so I made sure to give him my number before boarding. I would totally want to see him again.
