I decided to volunteer at a middle school with a bunch of other NYU students. We met at Kimmel, then headed to the school together. We paired off, and I chose a 6th grade classroom. We read some poems and asked them questions afterwards. The kids were really smart. We then had them write their own poetry, or draw something. I had a good time talking to them, and getting to know them. They got a little rowdy throughout, but overall were pretty good. Some of them came up with really good work. I gathered all of it together and glue-sticked them in a book for the teacher to keep. It was a lot of fun. And we stayed afterwards to see the talent show, but I had to leave early to get something from Walgreens.
I actually ran into MM at the store, which was awesome because I haven't seen him for awhile. It was nice to catch up, and he got me a Green Tea Frappy from Starbucks. Yum!
I had to get going before 5:30p to go to the Latin Quarter for a free buffet. Met up with A, and got introduced to a couple of friends. I hit it off with N-- He was just nice, and easy to talk to. Our dinner was pretty good: Salad, ceviche, spaghetti, Spanish rice, pulled pork. Got me full, that's for sure! After eating, we decided to work it on the dance floor. I was into the music, so that was fun.
Had to leave around 7:30p to meet with another group of people. I walked over to Grand Central and took the train to the Westside to get to the pizzeria. I had G buy me a Strawberry Kiwi Snapple, and then met everyone else. It was mostly guys, which was perfectly comfortable for me.
We left soon after to get to the theater to see Friday the 13th for the 9:20p showing. There was a big line, but fine because had great conversation with everyone. And we got good seats, plus R being the total sweetie he is, bought me some Uno pizza. Yum! Definitely appreciate all the perks I get from being a girl... Anyway, talked about CA (since R is from San Francisco) and all the things we miss from there.
I enjoyed the previews. Especially want to see Obsessed with Ali Larter and Beyonce. Hot! Anyway, Friday the 13th was actually pretty darn good! The characters were good, lots of jumpy moments and screams, and nice music.
After the show, we went across the street to Chevy's -- Just for drinks. Met another guy, M who was very cool and chill. Easy to talk to. So sat by him, and a couple of other guys. We discussed Friday the 13th, other horror movies, about acting and so on. Then, walked for a few blocks and ended up in Mercury Bar. Pretty cool in there... Got a booth table, and had pretty fun conversation: About traveling, the sheer number of photos I have on facebook, psychics, etc... A little X-rated here and there. Sexy talk. *Wink!
We left after 2a, and two of the guys had driven in from Queens so they offered me a ride back to Flushing, which was so incredibly awesome and amazing of them! And it was a nice red car, with heated seats. Such a great night! And will definitely being hanging out with M again.
