This is what I believe:
Fashion is in the air, in the street. Fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.- Coco Chanel
Tuesday I went to a Making it in Media Q&A discussion at the Journalism building-- It was pretty interesting, and there was good food from Mexican Grill: Rice, steak and chicken, cheese, chips, sour cream! I spoke with BM at the end about finding a summer internship, and he gave me hope that it wasn't too late. I really want to land something worthwhile, and paid.
I have no class on Tuesdays, so I met up with MH and a couple of other people in midtown for icecream. Baskin Robbins offers a 2 for 1 Sundae deal so that was really nice. I enjoyed my sherbert and caramel chocolate ripple with sprinkles, gummy bears and whipped cream.
I couldn't stay for long because had plans to meet with TA in Astoria. I haven't seen him in awhile, so it was good to catch up. We decided to have dinner at a Mexican restaurant-- It was a good choice. I loved my non-alcoholic pina colada, chicken taquitos and fries. Also tried some of TA's chicken wings, and it was so crispy and delicious!
Anyway, I'm glad I had a chance to chat with TA... He really focuses on what the other person says, and comes up with good questions and insights.
Today was also great. I met up with A at Saks Fifth Avenue. I hadn't seen her in months (she's just visiting for the week) so it was so awesome to hang out with her. We browsed around Saks, and were amazed by the crazy prices, then went for lunch on the cheap at a Chinese food place. It was all right. I really liked my taro bubble tea. Then continued window shopping, and talking about what we've been up to. There was a lot of catching up, and we parted ways before I had to go to class.
Tonight's class is my favorite: Integrated Marketing. We just started a group project (I love my team: VH, WM, and AK) and the topic was my suggestion. We're taking Saks and trying answer how they can succeed in this downturn economy. It's going to be really fun figuring this out, and going to events, interviewing key figures, etc.
I also heard back from a couple of companies, and will be doing three interviews next Tuesday. It works out perfectly. The first one is on 42nd St, and the one after is on 40th so very close by. Then I have plenty of time to get to the next one that is located downtown on Broadway.
For tomorrow night, I'm supposed to go out with MG to Marquee-- Still haven't been there, and really dying to go. The plan is to meet up for girl chat and then head to the club, and she confirmed through text messaging but hasn't called me back to figure out where exactly we're meeting. She does this kind of a lot actually-- She's really bad at calling me back, and will contact me only to see if I'm going out or whatever. I get really annoyed by that, because it feels like she's not a real friend, but I do enjoy talking with her-- She's a great listener, but has to be better with keeping in touch! Hopefully, will still be going to Marquee with her, but if not I may be able to meet up with J because he wanted to go out with me that night too.
