I've been having delicious meals lately.
Monday I headed out to Roosevelt Island for a picnic with T, RS, S and friends. The island is actually quite beautiful, and a cool hang out spot. We had hot dogs; multiple types of chips and cheese sauce; cous cous with onion, beans and corn; mini chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting and cinnamon ice tea. I met a bunch of new people, and got reacquinted with a a few that I hadn't seen for awhile. Suprisingly, A the blue eyed Irish guy remembered my name and when R came he recognized me and gave me a sweet little hug.
So we ate, played a bit of frisbee, had fun conversation, and headed inside late afternoon when it was getting a bit nippy out. We chilled on the comfy couches, played a little bit of Apples to Apples, had Rockband on and ate heart shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, as well as more chips with warm cheese dip.
CM finally came, but it was around the same time that everyone started to leave. I stayed a bit longer to talk more with RS, CM, T and just relaxed.
I left early to meet MM in the city, someone I hadn't seen for quite awhile. It was wonderful to hang out with him. I always feel comfortable around him, and he's easy to talk with. We hung out in a bar, Hook and Ladder where I got my signature drink- Shirley Temple. Also took a shot of kamikaze (one of the few drinks I like) and was fine after. MM tried to get me to come back with him to Westchester, but it just wasn't practical. Anyway, was lovely to see him and will have to meet again soon.
Tuesday evening I went to the Tilton art gallery showing the watercolors of Simone. It was pretty nice. All vibrant colors, figures of women, interesting setups.
Then headed down to Union Square to meet with JG for dinner. I suggested Republic, the noodle place and got the sauteed rice with Chinese sausage, egg, shrimp, onions, etc. It was definitely yummy!
It was good to see JG- He had been back home in Boston for the past few weeks but has now returned for the school semester. We got caught up on what we've been up to and all that good stuff. Then we took a walk to Astor Place where there's a crepe truck that is just divine... I got a sweet concotion of nutella, peanut butter, strawberries, blueberry and it was only of $5, plus I got a free lemonaide! Mmmm...
And Wednesday night I met up with C, JS, L and A at Essex for a Maine Lobster Dinner for $16. Really good price! It was a really good group. C is just a great guy, very funny; JS has lived in SF etc so gave us insight into other places in the world; L was just cool and nice-- She was an expert lobster cracker so helped me out and A seemed cool too. The meat was delicious, as were the sauteed potatoes and corn on the cob. And the conversation was stimulating and lively of course.
After saying our good byes, I took a walk with C to the Christopher St station because it was a lovely night out and wanted to walk off a bit of the food. I enjoyed chatting with C and told stories of past encounters with men and so on. He's a good listener, and pretty smart too.
Big day tomorrow- There's a huge Job and Internship fair at NYU and somehow I can't find copies of my updated resume but I'm sure the computer lab will be open now that the semester has begun... Then I'm stopping by the Coles Gym for Club Fest where I can run into people I know and find out about new clubs/activities and get lots of candy and treats. And nighttime there's a movie screening (a free one, yes for Sorority Row...)
