Yes, I am still up. I just had a fantastic Friday night.
But first, let me backtrack to Thursday evening. I had PR in Nonprofit and our midterm that night, which I feel pretty darn good about actually. Right after class, I went to 123 Burgers to meet with TA and a bunch of other people, and got there when some were leaving, but most of the group stayed. I ordered some peanut butter honey chicken wings, and my were they good! (Also, only $5) Anyway, I met S who is very cool, and we ended up hanging out after everyone left. We had a really good time talking about New York, and especially dating in this city.
Come Friday, I attend part of an Environmental Symposium at the NYU Law building and enjoy free lunch banquet which was very nice with many options food-wise. I also sat with really intelligent, green conscious people who were a pleasure to dialogue with.
Spent the rest of the afternoon chatting online, and applying for jobs and internships, and get a couple of promising emails from entertainment-based companies. One of them wanted to meet with me right away (Read: Friday night before meeting HA, TT and PC at the W Hotel) because she won't be able to next week. Since I was within walking distance of the offce, I agreed to meet with her and she told me about the firm and what I'd be doing. They do talent management, and work for Busta Rhymes, Missy and have a Film & Television unit. It all sounds pretty great, so am considering it even though it would start immediately (and I was aiming for a summer start-time)
Anyway, after that my Friday night started. I made it to the W Hotel by 7p, and found it to be a beautiful and elegant space if a bit small. It was good to see the girls again. After we had our share of the W, we headed to McFadden's which was closeby. By this time I was pretty hungry so some of the gals ate with me, while the others had already had dinner. I got the waffle fries with melted cheddar cheese, and had some of PC's boneless chicken wings. Pretty darn good.
I wanted to check it Iguana's because Tko's goodbye party was there but I knew she would be out of there before 10, so there wasn't enough time to get there. I headed to Imperial (club) instead to meet with MC and a bunch of other guys. Imperial's pretty nice, and I liked most of the music. Started chatting and dancing with R a little bit, but I didn't like it when he got too close so it was a little bit of a relief when he went away. By this time MB had come in, and it's always good to see him. So danced with him, then another guy, and D who complimented me quite a bit, saying he likes my style, my smile and thinks I'm sexxy!
Maybe around 1a, I notice a couple of smartly dressed sailors come around to where we are and MC introduced me to the one I was most interested in: The blond one of course! D and I connected right away after learning he's from CA (southern) but he and his buddies had driven from Connecticut. Then asked me if I wanted to dance-- Did I ever! The first time I danced with him, I didn't feel like we meshed that well and frankly I thought he wasn't that great of a dancer.
We took a break, he got me a drink and we relaxed on the couch and talked for over an hour. I enjoyed conversating with him, getting to know him, having a glimpse into how he lives. Back on the dance floor, and this time much better. Close, sexy, sweet, fine looking, and moves I didn't know he had!
By the time it was 4a, the club was still playing hot tunes but D and I were on the sidelines just chilling and waiting for J. D told me that he felt bad and thought he had led me on. Okay, true, I really would've loved to kiss him but I know this can't go anywhere. He's in Connecticut for goodness sakes. There's no way, but he still asks for my phone number. Sweet!
So I left with D and his two friends because we had to take the same subway train. They had parked out in Queens, and after D learned I lived there offered to give me a ride because he didn't like the idea of me riding public transport alone (Even though I do it all the time.)
I agreed to go with them, partly because I wanted to spend more time with him and his two buddies were pretty cool and funny as well. Especially while we were trying to look for the car-- All three Navy boys couldn't remember where the fuck they had parked! We went down several different roads but eventually, finally found it. Then we were going to use the GPS for directions, but battery died as did J's phone so didn't have a route to get me back so K suggested they just take me back with them, but women aren't allowed on the baracks so... Anyway, D's a very smart man and we found the main road and it was fine.
I kind of felt a pang after I hugged him goodbye. I know I'll see him again because he promised to call me when he's back and will definitely be around for Fleet Week when thousands of Sailors, Navy, Marine, Coast Guard ships come into Manhattan and the island is riddled with hot hot seamen! Cannot wait... But still, wanted to have more time with him.
