So KH came to visit from Penn State this weekend. It had been close to 2 years since I last saw her so was very excited to have her. Only thing is when she came on Friday, it was a rainy day. We still walked around Times Square, Grenwich Village and ate at Uno Grill. It was pretty good. We then stopped by the Museum of Natural History where Starry Nights was taken place... Very nice inside.
Woke up early Saturday to get in line for TKTS to get 1/2 off Broadway show tickets. We wanted to see Rent but that was only 25% off so Grease was second choice but we were told seats aren't good for that one. So we chose Hairspray. Still really excited to see that one...
We had plenty of time before the show so went to Central Park, but it started to rain again so went inside the Time Warner building. Decided to have lunch at Whole Foods. I got a bit of Indian food then the huge parfait of pudding, whipped cream, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, brownie and cake... Mmm.
Then we made sure to get to Neil Simon theatre in time. It was lovely inside. Our seats were pretty damn good as well. I noticed that the person playing Link was Ashley Parker, the blond hair blue eyed pretty boy of O-Town. He's such a good singer! Hairspray on Broadway is quite different from the movie, but excellent. Everyone was amazing in their role. It was a lot of fun to see.
Did some more exploring in Midtown, heading over to Rockefeller Center and 5th Ave. After that we went to Chinatown and looked at jewelry, bags, sunglasses, perfume, DVD's... I bought Jumper. We then found a nice little place to eat. I got fried dumplings and special fried rice. There was so much. Was delicious!
Afterwards, we walked around for awhile. Found the Manhattan Bridge: It's so beautiful! Also walked around East Village and that was nice as well.
KH had to leave Sunday afternoon unfortunately but really enjoyed the time she got to stay, reminiscing, and telling her all my crazy stories...
I spent some time with DB Sunday night which was pretty cool. We watched Wet, Hot American Summer which brought back thoughts of Idyllwild. Was really funny and interesting.
What I hate is that he's not amorous in the morning. That's all.
Met up with A who is going to see Rent with me at the end of the month. We gave me the cash for the tickets and we had a good chat. NYU's Ticket Central is selling tix for $36 so A actually has two other people who want to come along, so I needed to get another NYU student to buy the tickets with me because it's only 2 per NYU card. So I thought they'd be on sale today, but it's not until Tuesday at 12:30. ARGH! It pisses me off that I have to go back to stupid Kimmel tomorrow. And I have to find someone else to buy the tickets with...
