*living my dream life*
Last Days in CA

Monday wasn't hot like I expected it to be, but wasn't too bad until night. I went with M to Santa Cruz and met up with T which was cool- I hadn't seen him for quite awhile. Then, GC came along and we headed to Oakes Cafe for lunch because I knew they had curly fries which I had been craving. I also got bacon ranch chicken sandwich and a pina colada smoothie. It was all very good.

After eating, GC and I headed downtown and spent the rest of the time at Crossroads, a sweet bargain clothing store with new and used items. I ended up getting 2 skirts, and only paid about $15 total. One was black and white, with a belt detail and the other was a Forever 21 dark blue pleated style skirt, with a silky satiny bow and hem. It is so pretty.

I then had to take the bus to Watsonville where my dad picked me up. Back in Marina, I met up with DW (haven't seen her since high school!) at the Jack in the Box since they have really good shakes. It was nice to see DW again. She's thinking of moving to New York a bit later. It sounds like she's been doing really well so that was good to hear.

After dinner, KT came to pick me up. We went over to S and NM's apartment to just hang out and chat. A couple of people were already there, and then WC, N, C came. It was great to see (almost) everyone. Later, AE finally made it. She and S are both really good listeners but didn't get to spend that much time with just them. Oh well.

So, today I met LS downtown where we had lunch at a very nice restaurant, Rosine's. Their portions are huge and very delicious. I got the grilled chicken quesidilla, and it was so much. Then shared the peanut butter pie dessert with chocolate, on the bottom and a whipped cream frosting glazed with chocolate, peanut butter, caramel. It was incredibly rich, and unabashedly decadent. Just perfect.

After eating, I went to the Salinas mall for a little. I wanted sunglasses in preparation for my New York summer and there's a kiosk full of nice knock-off sunglasses. I picked a Chloe sepia colored one with a cute pink flower on the sides. It looks lovely, and expensive. Then, I had to meet with SM for a followup eye appointment and bought a cute white, black and blue sunglasses case.

Also, met up with ND and she gave me a box of See's chocolates (it is so good, and NY doesn't have See's so I've got my fix!) which was really thoughtful and sweet.

Now relaxing at home, and starting to prepare a yummy meal then going to San Jose for an overnight flight to JFK. I'll be back in New York early morning! (And I'm bringing back awesome new clothes...)
