*living my dream life*

Today was my second day working at the Marina Library. I made myself a chicken salad sandwich; packed fruit punch, a small orange, apple and two fortune cookies then proceeded to walk there since it's close enough to my house. It has been a pleasure working at the library because everything comes fast and easily for me. I enjoy being at the front desk the most because that's where I get the most human contact. There are times where I'm forced to shelve but it's a cinch for me, so it's not a big deal.

The staff has been great to work with, especially TS. She is very involved in the library and I'm going to be helping her with some events. There are two coming up in December. The first is making gingerbread houses and I've never done that so really looking forward to building something beautiful and tasty. The other fun event is a Teen Movie Night, showing Happy Feet and Hairspray and what do you know? Both I haven't seen and both I've been dying to see. And get this... I will be paid to help out and watch the movies! It doesn't get much better than that.

So I feel great helping patrons with computer, book, and whatever type of questions they may have and though I was hesitant in answering the phone because I was afraid I wouldn't know the answer, I've done well on that so far. There are a bunch of commands to remember but TS made me a little list of the harder ones so that works well.

And this morning there was storytime in the little kids' room and I noticed a really handsome blond babe with beautiful features and great muscle tone. However he had a kid, which probably means he's married and that's a not possible right there. Ahh, sigh!

Naturally, being at the library, I've checked out a couple of books even though I'll be fairly busy in the next few days. One of the books is The Potluck Club series called Trouble's Brewing. It's a very easy and fast read but pretty juicy. Another book I found is Sushi For One which is about a Japanese family and love relations. Two others: Best New American Voices 2007, a collection of short stories and Chateau of Echoes about a lady who buys a castle in a foreign country and turns it into a bed and breakfast. It looks quaint and charming.

The movie I've borrowed is Babel and the gal who returned it said she was able to watch it all the way though with no problems so I'm hoping it works this time. I really am interested in knowing how the heck this incredible movie ends!
