I absolutely HATE the stupid, horribly hot subway stations. If I wait there longer than two minutes, I feel like I'm going to die. There is no air, no ventilation and it's hot & muggy down there; even warmer than outside! GRR!
Last night was interesting. Went out to the Sin Sin Leopard Lounge down at East Village and it was open bar til 10:30 PM but I just got Shirley Temples, as usual. This weird guy started a conversation with me and was making me very uncomfortable. Finally, he walked away from me. Seriously though, why the hell was he even talking to me? STOP!
Anyway, met a different guy who was much nicer. He's a bit older, but was easy to chat with. While hanging out with me, he noticed me giving compliments etc and mentioned, "You're so not from NY." When I asked how he knew, he said "New Yorkers are nice but abrupt and you're just genuinely nice. It's refreshing." Aww! He also asked if I dated anyone his age... Kind of. Also said "If i were with you, I'd want to see you like everyday." I'm glad I'm not the only one with that sentiment. Though I don't see him as someone to date; I only want to keep him as a friend.
After a bit we left the lounge with some friends to go to the Lower East Side -- One and One. First were downstairs where there was clubby dance tunes and then the main level was 80's music. Pretty sweet. We danced for awhile and I tried a frambois-- It's a raspberry flavored beer and it was so sweet that it didn't taste like alcohol at all so I drank almost the whole glass. Then had to sit for awhile, because my feet were tired.
I guess I was starting to feel that I needed to wind down and get some rest. I was about to leave with the rest but went to the WC first and there they have the best smelling soap so I wanted to find out the brand they use so I was looking for the manager and I asked P about it and he said he'd help me with that (but actually didn't) He was trying to get all close to me and claimed that he wanted to get to know me but was just all up on me. I don't think he's sincere so I just had him take me to the nearest subway station. (Also wasn't feeling that great) and thank goodness he didn't try to go back home with me!
When I was finally back at my place I pretty much crashed and actually acquired a healthy 8 hours of sleep. Much needed.
This afternoon I went to 64th St and Lexington to meet J for a late lunch. We were going to eat at Alice's Tea Spot but the wait was too long... it's a really adorable place though. We went nearby to Eat Here Now and I got a bacon roquefort (cheese) hamburger and fries. It was pretty delicious. Talked about our past weeks of meeting people, going on dates, going out, etc etc. Was great to see J again and now I'm just chilling before heading out to Origins Church in Chelsea a bit later.
