Who says 13 is unlucky?

I had a phone interview this morning with Carol Leggett PR and she basically said she loves my resume and wants me to intern for them. It's a boutique lifestyle firm and will entail dealing with fashion and celebrities. It is also unpaid, but free lunch. I haven't committed to the internship quite yet, but I probably will in the next few days.

Unfortunately, I already have an internship lined up, however it's going to be about shaving products. If I don't get any offers for a paid internship, I think I'll have to go with Carol because I'd be dealing with something that interests me more and it actually connects to celebrities and so on. Carol's is definitely the better opportunity. Also, her office is close to NYU which is a nice bonus.

I went to work at the Seaside Library in the afternoon and there were chocolate truffles and homemade fudge. It was all so delectable and rich. It was a good working day as well; I did shipments and wrote out holds for patrons, called them, was on the desk, then shelved awhile. Sometimes I get to help in the Homework Center if there aren't enough people to tutor and watch the kids. Most of them know me by now so they'll smile, engage me in conversation, seek me out for questions when I"m not at the desk. It's cute.

After supper, I went to The Dunes (new shopping center in Marina) with my mom (so that she could pay for whatever I need.) We returned one pair of boots and found another one that didn't look so tacky. They're brown with a belt buckle and really sturdy, warm, flat and stylish enough that I can wear it with a skirt. We also picked out white & pink slipper socks and a ring: Pale pink in the center and clear cubed diamonds surrounding the round pink. Beautiful.

Now I'm going to take the time to wrap some little gifts and write cards to send to KZ in Wales, as I want her to get her present before Christmas comes along.

Oh, I love the holiday season and the month of December in general. It's full of candles, fireplaces fired up, good smells, baking, gift giving, shopping for deals, parties and get togethers, potlucks, fudge, cozy blankets, great books, hot chocolate, stocking stuffers, cheery music, surprises and receiving graciously. Also, the month of my favorite holiday (Christmas of course), my birthday, my mom's and New Year's Eve. What could be better?
