This weekend's been all right with very good food, watching little kids (Noah, one of my all-time favorites, called me by name which I found very endearing), learning more about New York and the transportation system, talking with good friends (all, incidently, NOT in the Monterey area) on the phone... I made plans with IS (we met through EAP; I went to Leeds and he to St. Andrews) tomorrow: He's driving from SJ to see me. =) I also have a few other visits from out of town friends in the New Year.
However, I just finished talking with L and TC from LA and they just made me realize how hard I'm missing LA. I miss the parties, the getting all decked out at night, the people, the hotties I get to meet and flirt with whether it's through a store, club, walking down the street... I miss my close friends there, I miss the places to go, shops to explore and bargains to find. I miss the sweet warm sunny weather, I miss the big city lifestyle. I need to get an internship there this summer...
But who knows, maybe New York City will open all those doors again. I mean, it is the city. It'll be different from LA, certainly, but there will be parties and clubs to get dressed up for; rich worldy cultured young men (preferably British and blue eyed... I'm not picky though... Just kidding. *Wink) to converse with intelligently and of course be with; places to visit; shows and musicals to attend; neighboring places to see...
Though I love my friends on this coast (actually, most are in SC or scattered around California now), I just cannot wait to be in the city again.
