*living my dream life*
Monday Night Madness & Tuesday Craziness
kitten-kissed on July 22, 2008 at 5:44 p.m.

On Monday, I didn't go to my NYU internship because when I woke up, wasn't feeling very well and decided I needed some more rest. I got out of the apartment late afternoon to return the purple-y H&M dress even though while there, was still trying to figure out if I still wanted it. After that, went down to the alphabet avenue blocks to meet with KS at Kate's Joint, a Vegetarian restaurant that was really good. So much to choose from. I got the popcorn shrimp and crispy tofu with lemony garlic sauce, mashed potatoes and very well done corn on the cop. It was all delicious and will have to go back to try more from the menu.

It was great to catch up with KS. Told her all the stories of the past couple of weeks and she's a great listener. We headed to One and One afterwards, but it was a Monday night and early so nothing was really going on there. We decided to head back toward East Village and see if we spot anything. We ended up going to Wicked Willie's; it was Monday Night Madness there with beer pong tournament and special drink offers. It was cool to just chill there and was fairly crowded. I noticed one particularly hot guy near-ish to us and there was some eye contact from across the room but no words were exchanged. Then, he left earlier!

But, I certainly noticed a bunch of guys with blue eyes which is always nice. I'm very good at checking out what color eyes a guy has, even if I'm just walking past... Blue eyes just pop out to me and it's not true that it makes someone automatically attractive, but it definitely helps. KS pretty much says I have a type: Surfer-esque, blond hair, blue eyes, clean cut. Hm, kinda true but it definitely varies from that, as I also think green eyes are beautiful and dark looks can be extremely sexy and magnetic as well.

KS was interested in playing beer pong and she was willing to drink for me as well. So, I asked one of the guys who work at Wicked Willy's and KS thought he was very cute. He was good looking, but didn't make my heart beat faster. KS said that she thinks he likes me because he kept looking at me and in fact when I asked him about beer pong, he said "Do you want to play with me and Mike?" So that was pretty cool. I don't have great aim though so I was kind of scared to try, but got one in the first time! I was the one who got most of the balls in.

After our loss, we decided to head out and the guy at door thanked us for coming and told us to "Take care." Aw! KS said that he probably liked me too and commented, "Oh, come on. All the guys liked you." That was sweet of her to say.

We just wandered around for awhile. Found a neat place called Sugar and got some gelato from there. I chose panacotta (caramelized creme brulee-- Amazing!) and creamy Strawberry. Delicious!

We parted ways not too long after that and the stupid 7 was stuck on the Grand Central track for ages! There was something wrong with the signal light and after waiting in the train for 20 plus minutes, they tell us this 7 is going nowhere, and to take the 6 train to 59th, transfer at Queensboro Plaza for the 7. What a hassle! To top it all off, had to wait many minutes for each transfer but when I got to Queensboro-- it was outdoors so had some natural AC which was very refreshing. An older man started talking to me and he was really nice and funny. He said that I "radiate smarts and a certain quality of presence" when I asked him how he knew I attend NYU. What a great compliment!

So, today, Tuesday, woke up in time to get Kelly's email to meet them at Laura's apt on the lower east side at noon. I just had barely enough time to make it, but Kelly was later for me because she was gathering all the mail stuff for the jewelry client. It was a fairly crazy day, because the invitations didn't look as good as they expected/wanted and they were going out late, the stamps were too Valentine-y so there was a sort of tense energy for a bit. We got everything sealed, fixed the stamp problem, organized everything and realized things aren't quite so bad.

We took a break when we had finished putting all the mailings together and ordered in some lunch. Thin crust pizza with green bell peppers (Oh my, it was very yummy, even though I don't usually like thin crust) and a great spinach salad with feta, tomato, cranberry.
After we all chilled, talked, ate together, Kelly and I were off to drop off invitations to certain magazines... The big ones are the most important so we wanted them to be hand-sent. Kelly has a car (and I loved the music she played!) so she drove and I dropped the invites off. At times it was hard to find the right address, and would have a tough time to find the mailing entrance but got it all done!

Now I'm about to go to Lexington Ave, and meet up with SCPS students for a social on the rooftop of the Sheraton. Afterwards, have plans to meet with DS at Neutral Ground, because I want to talk...
