The other day my friend RR wanted to treat me to see the epic film, Atonement. Unfortunately, we got the times mixed up, so we settled for Juno (thankfully, I still got my Wild Cherry Slushie and popcorn that RR paid for as well); after all, the previews did look fairly amusing. It turned out to be a solid choice. The dialogue was fresh, unique, flippin' sweet and the whole situation seemed real and not too heartwarming or sappy. Young Juno (the 16-year old pregant teen) was funny, intense and it was easy to like her, to feel for her. You ended up cheering for the characters who pulled through.
I went to work (Marina Library) at 8AM, however KE had thought he had told me 9AM so I waited an hour, but still got paid from the time I had arrived. S was really sweet, giving me homemade fudge, Harrod's Loose Leaf Black Tea and she had brought a delicious, moist coffee cake for all of us to enjoy. We also had See's Chocolates, cookies in the shape of teddy bears and whales, Cadbury's, hot chocolate with marshmallows... A land of sweets!
It was a pretty low-key day at the library. I didn't have a problem with any patrons, everyone was all smiles and B came in. This is the guy I have so much chemistry with, the guy who never cleaned up his act around me, and I still found comfort being with him. However, it's been probably a year since I last saw him and he has changed now. He's back in school and wants to transfer to a Christian college to study theology. So, he couldn't be good when I had him? Argh!
After work, I got ready to hang out with ST. He came with the CD with all the good pictures from our Wilder Ranch photo-shoot... Me in that gorgeous metallic satin trim dress. He also had wrapped a couple of pictures he printed out for me, with a card and Peppermint Bark Chocolate stuck on the outside. That was such a sweet thought.
We ate at Quizno's. I got the Angus Black Steak on Parmesan bread... It comes with two cheeses, mushroom and onion, as well as two tangy sweet sauces. It was delicious.
Afterwards we headed to Salinas Mall to see PS I Love You where we got kettle korn as well. I didn't know if Hilary Swank would be able to pull off the role of a beautiful lady but she did a damn good job. Her husband was also oh so delightful: Gerald Butler played the part of singing Irishman so well. The premise was really adorable and sweet. The man she married was such a hopeless romantic... This is the type of guy I want. And the ending is fitting, very cool.
