Upon reaching into my Paris Blues stripped corduroy, [colored creme, black, and barely noticeable pale greens and blues] pants pocket, my hand met with jingly change and folded dollar bills. Pulling it out, it totaled $15.95. Not bad. I cannot remember where it came from, but it's always nice to have something like this come.
Last night I went to see the play, Oklahoma! I had never seen a prodcution of it, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The last time I went to that particular theater was for H.M.S. Pinafore and I wasn't able to stay awake during it. Literally. It might have been good and interesting if I had paid attention but it didn't capture me. So it was a nice nap, at least. Anyway, I am glad I decided to see Oklahoma! because know that I've experienced it, I know i wouldn't want to miss it. Opening scene was of Curly, main actor on stage by himself singing "Oh, What a Beautiful Day" and it was lovely to hear. He had such a deep voice, good strong body and mop of curly black hair. The whole storyline kept me wanting to know what will happen next and had me really feeling for the characters. I especially liked the Peddler. That accent, his mannerisms and sayings, the expressions on his face. . . it was all so perfect. He's not the type of guy I'd normally think of as swoon-worthy in terms of looks, but he was still quite handsome. And I liked the way he did his "Persian Goodbye's." I'd take that over Will's "Oklahoma Hello!" any day, mostly because of the way the lady is dipped backwards so smoothly into the arms of the Peddler for the "Persian Goodbye." Plus the kisses that way were more passionate. It seemed like the Peddler was a real gentleman and could charm anyone. Certainly charmed me, at least. And when I saw him after the production, he bowed slightly and made to kiss my hand. Sweet.
