Oscars Party
kitten-kissed on February 26, 2008 at 5:02 p.m.

I know The Academy Awards was a few nights ago, but the Oscar Night party deserves highlight and distinction. It took place at Latitude Bar and Lounge and there was popcorn, movie games and trivia, delicious appetizers, giveaways (I got The Diving Bell and the Butterfly-- at once a sad and moving tale into the mind and heart of a man with "locked-in syndrome") and the third floor with large screen loud speaker TV's for our viewing pleasure. I hobnobbed with a few different people then spent most of the evening hanging out with DV.

It was great to be around people pumped out about the telecast, really into movies and definitely beat watching it at home. Jon Stewart was hilarious, and it was great seeing all the presenters and history of the awards ceremony. To my glee and surprise, I was able to guess who won each award after they showed the nominees so that was quite cool... I think everyone got pretty much what they deserved, especially the song "Slowly Falling" in Once, which was also beautifully performed.

The past couple of days I've had two interviews. The first is a boutique company that reminded me of eSHAVE so I didn't take much of a liking toward it. Today's interview was with Carol Fass Publicity and Public Relations, Inc and they specialize in books. After some research, I found out that this lady has worked with Amy Tan, Anne Rice, Michael Crichton, Sue Grafton, and many others. Quite impressive. Definitely something I'd love to be a part of and I got to meet Carol herself. She liked my resume, so we'll see what happens.

A friend I had met at Idyllwild is in NYC for the week so we are going to meet up on Thursday. It'll be really fun to see her again.
