*living my dream life*
Out & About

I had an extremely full and happy weekend. Friday night I met up with JX and we headed to an event put on by a Nepali Association. Met some nice, cultured people and enjoyed a samosa, fried treat made out of rice, and some sweets. Afterwards, we met up with a bunch of friends at Hot Pot City in Flushing. I had some onion pancakes, dim sum and a some of the heated up foods. In addition to nonstop food and drink, there was karaoke. I had fun picking out some well known songs, and sang a bunch... "Crush" by Jennifer Paige (It's just a little crush/Not like I faint every time we touch); "Manic Monday" and some other classics. I actually got complimented on my singing voice! Mad sweet.

Saturday afternoon I met up with EC at Grand Central and luckily it was a beautiful, warm day so we were able to go to the New York Botanical Garden up in the Bronx. First we stopped by a deli to eat and the guy behind the counter liked me: He was trying to chat me up and actually gave me a Snapple and strawberry cheesecake for free. That was really generous so I appreciated it, but I didn't feel the same way about him so I'm glad he didn't ask for my number.

The botanical garden was pretty great. Huge and so many pretty cherry blossom trees, other kinds of flowers. Everything was nicely laid out. I also liked the reflection pool, water fountain, bridges, and the tram ride we took around the place. Only thing was the rose garden was bare... They're not in bloom yet. =(

Back in the city, I headed to Wall Street because I've never been down there. It was a charming place with little streets and cool buildings.

After that, I headed to 34th St to do some exploring at the HUGE Macy's. I wanted Sheseido brand hydro-sparkling eyeshadow. The African American man who helped me was really cool. He put some of the deep blue color on me and it looked great so choose that one.

I then hung out at Madison Square Garden for awhile because I thought MS would be ready to hang out around 10:30 PM, but he was still having dinner with his sister. Argh. Annoying to have to wait, but I made some calls to friends back home so was able to pass the time that way.

When MS finally met with me, he prefaced it saying that I'm not keeping up the whole night because he has to wake up early for work. Damn it. This boy is way too busy! As it is, one of his male friends thinks he's spending more time with me than him. If you ask me, that's how it should be... I mean, I am the romantic interest!

So anyway, we had a good time together. Walked around awhile and then found a bench and just sat there, very close together. I ended up sitting in his lap the majority of the time and he held me so tightly, we necked and got pretty aroused but he wouldn't allow any kissing on the lips though... His excuse was if it did, he would just spend the night with me and not go to work. Oh well, another time.

I love that he reaches to hold my hand when we're walking around. I've always thought hand-holding is so romantic and the way to show you're with someone. And while we wait for the subway, we stand close together, hugging. So we're going through all the couple-y motions. I feel wonderful around him.

Today, I met up with KS for lunch. We ate at Johnny Rocket's -- Pretty good. Then, spent the day around East Village which is a fairly nice place. Went into a few boutiques and vintage shops. Everything is so expensive though. We found a park and I wanted to go on the swings so we went in. Had to wait our turn and it was well worth it... I love swinging up so high! And we one kid starting talking with us-- She was really funny and candid. Asked if I had a boyfriend... It seems like everyone (including strangers I have never talked to) is asking me this now.

Anyway, I found a great place called Economy Candy. There is tons of stuff there, everything from old-fashioned treats to modern-day. I picked out a Pixy Stick, Wonka Bar, sour cherry with stems (it was almost a pound and only $3!), Charms hard candy and a cute container of mints... On top it says Lucky Girl in cursive and has a pink/white swirly background.

I went to Kimmel for a bit because I volunteered to help out at a fashion show/talent event. I didn't really do much though because there were so many people around. I had to leave early anyway.

I took the E train to 23rd St... Chelsea is a wonderful neighborhood. It's got galleries, lots of fun eateries, the pier, etc. I would definitely want to live there actually. Maybe someday. Anyway I was there to check out Origins, a church. It was full of young people and I only talked with a couple of people... All pretty nice, especially J (who is also incredibly good looking with pretty blue-ish eyes) I enjoyed the service a lot. Great music, especially "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" (one of my favorites!) and the message was about not conforming to the world (Romans 12:2). Very relevant to my life.

I was supposed to meet up with MS tonight but he was mad tired, so sadly was unable to see him. I talked with him for a bit before I left the city though and I'm just so happy to be able to talk with him so easily.

I then headed back to my apartment and during the commute, DM called me. It was awesome to hear from her and tell her all the gossip on me. After speaking with her, I called MS again and we chatted for about half an hour till he wanted to crash. He'll be meeting me outside of the NYU building across from Bryant Park Wednesday night. Maybe I'll take him to Play-Games Club after eating... I want to show him off. Haha.
