FLEET WEEK 2009-- When a whole bunch of Navy, Marines, Coast Guard come in on huge vessels and infiltrate New York City...

Really, I did not know I had such a thing for military guys. I think it's the uniforms. I am pro at spotting anyone in the hot uniforms, and I'm pretty boy crazy so I then try to smile at them, talk to them, flirt follow them...

Wednesday Night: Went on a cruise around Manhattan, taking off from Pier 40, on the Queen of Hearts. It was a gorgeous, gorgeous night. Awesome views, cool people, live music on the top deck, fun dancing on the rocking ship, ran into two guys I knew and rode with them to Chinatown to go to a bubble tea place where I got some great/cheap food and then got a ride back home... Sweet!

Thursday Night: Started at 230 Fifth, the awesome rooftop and met up with a few people. Had a good time just relaxing, and chatting. Got to sit for a bit, then I met up with IA with the intention of going to Marquee. But of course, wanted to meet Fleet Week guys, so when I kinda started chatting with a group of them and they were going into nearby Glass, we agreed. However, at the very last second, they decided to leave and went away so fast! Ugh. We thought we would find more of them, easily in Marquee, which wasn't the case. Though it was my first time in Marquee, and I had been dying to go so... It was pretty nice in there. I liked the upstairs, could see the view of everything below. Not that many people. One guy started dancing with us, but we left after not too long.

Headed down to the Village. There were definitely more military men around. IA didn't think many were cute, which was annoying to me because we weren't even close enough to see sometimes. I kinda liked some of them. Then, I pointed to a tall guy, with blue eyes so started talking with his buddy and became a part of their group. They were Coast Guard. CC, the best looking one was quite charming but I could see that he was into IA more. One of his friends liked me, but I wasn't into him so I danced and talked more with the last guy. He was a little drunk, but still fun to talk with.

IA ended up leaving early, and I didn't stay out much later. I just shared a cab with the boys, and went home.

Friday was an amazing day. I went with J to the USS Iwo Jima, the biggest ship at Pier 88. I had a blast. Shot a machine gun, and the Marine who showed me was hotness personified. Climbed up on two different massive weaponry vehicles, and got to talk with some of the guys there too. Before leaving, I had gotten B's number, and one of the guys told me next time I climb up on those things, wear jeans. Ohh no...

On the ship, there were two other levels. The middle one was where all the medical stuff was, and the top where all the helicopters are kept. Plus, a wonderful view of Manhattan all around.

After that, we headed to 9th Ave to find a place to eat. Settled on Vinyl, which is an awesome place. It's club-like inside, and mosiac tile tables, comfy booths, music and record themed. I got the brioche french toast with appples and hot caramel sauce. Oh my gosh, that was delicious! Also, shared some sides: French fries which were amazing. And sugar snap peas- Not bad. J paid for everything, which was really cool.

We then headed to Central Park, and laid out in the shady grass for a little bit. A little later, headed to the village, and met up with E who is looking for a babysitter through June. She is really cool, so hopefully I will get this... I then headed over to relax in a park and talk with EC for a little. Always good to chat with him. Also went on the swings-- They're my favorite!

I had dinner at Kurve, contemporary Thai. It's soooo pretty inside. Hot pink, silver, candles, white, amazing music, wonderful service, and food. I got a Thai Iced Tea (always) and Blue Crab fried rice. Mmmm! I went with N, M and M to a nearby place to get some green tea popsicles which were way cheap. Yum.

I then was off because I had to meet MG and I saw a sea of white so I wanted to go by them. Didn't really get a chance to talk to them though.

I did get a chance to chat with B, the Marine (on the phone), and I love talking with him. He decided not to go out tonight (despite my persuasive skills) because he has to be super early tomorrow. He's going to be on the "Today Show" so watch it if you can! Anyway, I shall see him at some point... I'm going to the Bronx Zoo with a big group today. Maybe he'll join me?

So I just went toward W4 and came upon the new Washington Square Park... Construction is done and now there is this amazing fountain area. I could feel the water droplets, and can actually walk/splash around in it. It's perfect. And oh so romantic. I will be spending much time there!

Then, met up with MG (in the village) and it was lovely to see her. I always have such a fun time with her. And love sharing all our crazy fun stories. We are very similiar-- Like to go to the same type of places, do the same kind of things. Also, both very outgoing and social. But, we like completely different type of guys which is key to a going out buddy.

I basically wanted to follow any crowds of uniformed men. There were a bunch that went by, and one gave me a flirty "hi" but he didn't stop. Then, we chatted with a few Navy men about where they could go, but they didn't seem to want us tagging along. Spotted a hottie, with blue eyes and did talk to him a bit. He said we could follow them if we wanted, but then he went to catch up with his two friends, and didn't turn back. Ass. I actually saw him later in the night though...

We were tipped off to go to Off the Wagon, which is kind of a divey place but had a good time there. We went upstairs, and were in the thick of it. This sailor started to talk to me, and he seemed really cool. He introduced me to all his friends, which was great so MG and I hung out with them the rest of the night.

I thought that F was kind of chatting me up in the beginning, then R started talking with me and F went to talk to MG (who was originally chatting up R). R is from San Diego, and he was nice and funny. He put his hat on me, and apparently the rule is if they do that, you have to kiss! So, kiss we did... It was pretty nice.

Then I learned the sailors have to be back on the ship at 2am. I did want to see the ship at night, but I'm not in uniform so wouldn't be let in. Though, I wouldn't have gone back with him anyway... I'm still more interested in B, the Marine. Wish me luck! ♥
