Some Chill Days

This week has been fun. Started off playing BINGO Monday night. Met with P and M at Bowery Poetry Club, decided to get dinner at Whole Foods since there's more variety there and prices are good. So had a lovely meal, but back at BPC there were no more seats left so we just took over the little table in the back and stole some chairs from the front. It worked out well.

So, BINGO at BPC is a ton of fun, and so hilarious. The hosts are two drag queens, and I loved them both. Such great personalities, and loads of fun. I couldn't contain my laughter.

Anyway, the prizes were kind of kitschy and weird... I was really just waiting for the last game where you have to cover every number for the cash prize. I ended up with 4 BINGO cards total (donations from other people), and I had 2 more spaces to go but someone had covered them all so I didn't win the money.

Tuesday evening I was supposed to meet with RB to see the new movie, Orphan but he had to cancel so I met up with some friends at the rooftop of Red Sky Bar. N was having a cupcake social, so I enjoyed the chocolate one from Sugar Sweet Sunshine. Pretty darn delicious! As the time got later, more people trickled in. At first I wasn't having the best time because I didn't really connect with anyone, and I felt like some of the people were excluding me from the conversation but as the group got smaller, it got better.

After awhile, I left with N, J, G and one other guy to get some food. We went to a Vegetarian Indian restaurant that was quite good. I ordered the appetizer sample platter which was such a good deal. Samosa, fried potato fritter, green pancake, etc. Mmmm, good!

After eating, we had a nice walk to Grand Central (about 15 blocks away)... Nice night, good conversation and all that.

Wednesday night was small group. It was my turn to bring something, so I stopped by the street fruit vendor and got cherries and grapes. The street vendor guy started a conversation with me... He lives in Queens as well, and definitely prefers it to the city because it's actually quiet. Anyway, he's Egyptian and when one of the regulars came to buy fruit from him asked if I was his girl, the street vendor guy said yes. Dang, why do guys do that-- I'm with him at all. Anyway, he asked for my number.

Continued to TP and MP's place, except that there was this torrential downfall so I tried to wait it out. Still had to walk in the rain though. But, instead of keeping people away, more showed up, including a bunch I hadn't seen in awhile so that was awesome.

We had delicious fried rice with Chinese sausage, the fruit I brought, bread, chocolate, and yummy blueberry pie. It was a happy time of catching up, me being hyper and silly, enjoying conversations ranging from what skills we wished we had, to the book of Hosea, to what we are thankful for and what we need freedom from...
