Super Fun Weekend
kitten-kissed on August 31, 2009 at 12:41 a.m.

Friday met with HV and J, plus a couple of their girlfriends at Katra. I was the first one at the club, so stayed out in front chatting with C (the Irish guy manning the door) He was really nice and funny, and later found out he's the owner. Nice.

So, we hung out, danced a little, got free chair massages then went downstairs which is a very nice space, with comfy couch seating. There was also free speed dating, but all the guys were African American. I still did it, and maybe two were cool. Y was funny, and nice and J was also nice and seemed grounded.

After the speed dating, we headed uptown and ate at Ruby Tuesday's. I split a meal with J and we got the chicken cheese bacon burger with unlimited fries. It was pretty good.

Walked to China Club afterwards, because J's cousins are partying there tonight. We had to wait in line for awhile, til they came and gave us tickets which got us in immediately. I actually don't think China Club is a nice club, but the music was okay at first and I got one of the girls to give me a french braid. So pretty! But I just wasn't feeling the crowd, atmosphere, heat so left a bit earlier with one of the other girls.

Saturday I met with MT who picked me up at my place in Flushing, which was nice. We went to A Taste of Shanghai, and MT suggested the fish, but instead I picked the crispy duck. It was all right, but fish would've been better probably. Also got sweet sticky rice, pork and crab shu mai, scallion pancake. It was all right. Could've ordered better.

MT and I then went to a little Indian place for mango lassi which I have been craving. It wasn't as good as I hoped, but oh well. We then headed to the mall in Long Island. It was pretty big, fun to check out the stores.

Back to Flushing to get bubble tea- I got the black sesame smoothie with pearls and wow, was it delicious! Also got fish balls with curry and sticky rice with pork, shrimp, Chinese sausage- Yum!

Then into Manhattan to meet up with IA to go to club Duvet, the beautiful one that's filled with beds. Very nice place, and was definitely feeling the music. Spotted a couple of cuties, especially the tall one with a great body- Curly hair, and blue eyes but he was with a girl. And I wasn't into any of the guys who tried to dance with me. Oh well. Still had a fun night out with IA.

Sunday I had to wake up semi-early to get to dim sum in Chinatown. It was at a place called Jing Star with JT and a bunch of his friends. They all seemed pretty nice and cool. We ordered a ton of delicious foods- Dumplings, shrimp wrapped in bacon, balls with black sesame inside, and much more. It was all sooo freaking good. My favorite dim sum place so far!

After that, I headed to Soho to check out the Comic and Cartoon musuem with a few people. Along the way, saw hot shirtless male models standing in front of Hollister store, and I vowed to go check them out after the museum. I made fast friends with E who is almost as boy crazy as I am. We are very much alike, which is both a good and bad thing. We both are into the blond hair, blue eyed look; bubbles; horror movies and work in communications.

Anyway, the comic museum was small but interesting. Lots of cool little story lines, and fun artistry. And checking out the men at work in Hollister-- Wow. The guy in the very front is gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous with these intense blue eyes that don't blink- They just gaze at you and I wish I had been able to talk to him!

The rest of the group wanted to go somewhere to eat, so someone led us to Chinatown but I was still full from Dim Sum so I actually wanted to stay in Soho and do some window shopping but I went with the group. However, E and I separated from the group anyway and we found a cool street market, and Little Italy.

It was a good time to shop for bags, because my Etienne Aigner straps are going to rip soon. I was mostly looking at Coach purses at first, but then we found a little shop with higher end purses in the secret back and there were Dolce & Gabbanas-- Which I like better. I picked out a shiny turqouise D&G with silver chain and zipper details. It's hot! So chic, and classy beautiful.

Then continued walking awhile and went to a bar to meet with a big group to watch horror movies in the back. They were showing Evil Dead when I walked in so had missed the beginning parts. Oh well. The next one was Supuria which was slow moving, but interesting.

Afterwards, had good time chatting with everyone and being complimented on my high energy and high on life-ness (especially since I had nothing to drink). Walked around St Marks Place with one of the gals who was really sweet, and stopped for yummy frozen yogurt: I got peanut butter, cake batter and cheesecake flavor. Licks lips!
