Friday evening I first met with J at the Starbucks- Astor Place and he bought me a drink and we talked for awhile which was fun then I went to the 3rd Ave theater a few blocks away to meet with MS, RG, J and a few others.
We got to see Hangover which I wasn't all that excited about, but it sounded like a good premise and I ended up loving it. Was soooo freaking funny! I couldn't stop laughing, and enjoying. Was truly ridiculous, crazy, and awesome! I liked so much that after seeing it once wasn't enough-- It made me want to watch it again. Which I probably will at some point.
We went to Saint's Alp afterwards, a bubble tea place and with great Taiwainese food. Plus, everything's under $6! I got the black sesame bubble tea and some rice with crispy chicken, half a tea egg, some veggies.
I mostly talked with D and RG which was cool, and ended up going with them to Sullivan Place, a cool little place to dance it up! Music was pretty good. Got into the beat and so on. Left kinda early with RG and got to chat with her more. I always love being around her, because she's a very good listener and she seems to understand me. And I found out we have something major in common, which is very hard to find in the big city.
Saturday I had to wake up early and meet L and others to go to Govenor's Island. We took the 10A ferry, and it was a nice little ride (just too short). I immediately got along with BB... She's really fun, and I just found it easy to talk with her. She told me to do PR for her company (Mattel) because the current PR person is a bitch. Haha! I'd totally like to find a job, so hopefully I can intern for them during the fall (and they pay!)
When we got to Govenor's Island, we took a free guided tour which helped us see all of the island (which isn't very big). We got to see the old buildings, and the quaint little houses-- They had sculptures and works of art in the rooms. Some of it was really amazing. I got a lot of great photos throughout our time on the Island, especially ones with me in it!
We then found a grassy area to have our picnic style lunch. There was a 1920's lawn party across the way from us, and a live band with a singer! That was definitely cool to have great music accompany our time. I had mostly snacks, and some of C's lamb with rice and salad. Then, played catch with a little football then a frisbee. I enjoyed throwing more than catching, but I wasn't that bad.
We headed back to Manhattan around 2:30. Had a nice time on the boat. I love being near the water! It's so relaxing and beautiful. RB had messaged me earlier and we were both heading to Union Square so I met him there. We walked and talked, then found a place to sit and just chilled. It's always fun to hang out with RB, and we both were totally into the fit hottie sitting beside me... He had brown hair and these amazingly clear pale blue and hazel eyes-- I couldn't stop looking at this man! I couldn't bring myself to leave until after he did...
Then I had to go across the street to meet with CM. It was great to see her, especially since it had been awhile. I had a good time catching up with her, and of course told her all the fun stories of what I've been up to.
I had to leave around 6p, to go to RS's BBQ at his house(!) uptown. I took the wrong train, which took me to 138th St- Grand Concourse, because I thought 140th St would be right there. But when I got there, I didn't see any houses or even apartment buildings so I went to ask the people working at the car wash and they knew nothing so one of the car owners came to help me. He had a GPS so put in the address, and tried to explain to me how to get there, and after a minute asked if I wanted a ride there since it wasn't too far. I was hoping he would ask that, so I jumped at the opportunity. He was such a nice guy to do that!
I was so happy to arrive at the house, and had such an awesome time meeting everyone! RS wasn't there yet, but a E and P were so I knew some people and it was just so easy to talk with everyone else-- Mostly the guys though. I met the others who live in the house too-- I absolutely loved CF and CL. They were just so friendly and seemed like wonderful people.
And, the food wasn't lacking of course! I had a hamburger with hot dog meat which is delicious! Really enjoyed the skewered sausage, with multicolored peppers. Then, fruit salad, ice pops, ice cream chocolate sprinkles and cones.
I got in a pretty lenthy conversation with T about California. He's from LA so we discussed areas in there for awhile. It makes me want to visit LA again! Then, met some other people, did some dancing, and so on. RS and K finally came and it was great to see them. We all lingered in the backyard just eating, conversing, having a good time.
After awhile, we gathered inside in a very nice room and had some performances by CF (he's called the Acoustic Lion, and an amazing singer-- I made sure to get his CD before I left); K; G; S and everyone was so good! I helped CL pick a great Jewel poem that he read out loud, and after the singing most everyone left. I decided to stay and with CF leading we sang some worship songs. It had been so long since I've sang like that, and I love, love doing that.
And I couldn't stop watching CL-- He's cute, obviously smart and caring (he teaches 5th graders), kind and I would love to see him again, get to know him better. Then I found out he's moving to Ithica to be an InterVarsity leader at Cornell. So he's leaving...
Anyway, I got a tour of the the house-- There are about 4 levels. It's pretty huge, and very comfortable. I would have loved to stay over and chat more with CF, CL, B, K, RS but it was time to go since S and T were ready to leave and I didn't want to trek out of there alone. I had such a wonderful time at RS's place, and am so glad I got to meet his housemates! They're awesome.
So, I have to wake up early on Sunday as well. I'm going kayaking (free) on the Hudson at Pier 40. It should be really fun. I'm soo looking forward to it! And later in the day I have a free BBQ to attend... Free is sooo good!
