Two Parties

Last night was certainly fun. After watching a double feature (classic films: 42nd St and King Kong-- I hadn't seen the originals of both so it was quite a treat. Really fun!) with a friend, went to the Sunburnt Cow for MH's birthday.

Got there pretty early, because wanted to take advantage of the $16 three-course meal special. MH, D waited awhile for MA and MB to show up so that we could be seated in the back. It was really nice there-- Felt like we were in a real restaurant. The food was just delicious! I ordered the salad, tried the calamari with kiwi (yum!), got the NY Strip Steak with scalloped potato, fried polenta, and argula salad. It was amazing. The steak was so juicy and savory! For dessert, I chose the chocolatey coconut sponge cake with strawberries and cream. It was okay, but I liked MH's choice-- Sticky date pudding better so will have to come back.

As the dinner went on, more of MH's friends joined us, and we got a round of drinks (paid for by MH's mom-- How sweet!) I left with MA and MB because had to get to EA's party at Chrystie St. MA was willing to drive me there so that was really nice.

So, I got to Kush and learned that EA still hadn't arrived. It wasn't a big deal to me, because I met a bunch of people and fit right into the group really fast. I talked most with E and F-- They were cool, funny, and it felt like they were old friends. Had a good time sitting in the alcove, smoking some hookah and after 11p, EA finally made it! It was great to see him, but didn't get a chance to catch up/talk to him because soo many people were there.

Ended up dancing with F, K, E and later E joined us-- He and I danced pretty closely for a bit. It was fine but I wasn't into him, so F freed me. We then left around 3a, and went with them in K's car. They were going uptown so I got dropped off at Times Sq station. I didn't have to wait too long for the trains, but once I was above-ground again, that stupid Q44 bus sure took its sweet time coming to us...
