"You're so beautiful. You don't know that do you..." C tells me. And not just once, but multiple times in different ways during our lunch. It's really sweet and makes me blush. We eat at Dallas BBQ on W. 42nd and I got the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs complete with french fries and cornbread. It's very good. Especially the meat: All tender and juicy delicious!
C and I take a cab to Central Park and just stroll around for a bit. It's actually not a bad day, weather-wise... There were actually patches of sunlight. We didn't really have time to take a horse-drawn carriage ride but then again that's more something I'd do with someone I'm actually into... Besides I had to be at Kimmel (Washington Square South) in midday. C bought me a hot chocolate before we parted. He's a really nice guy and we have good conversations. I just don't see myself with him... I better let him know that though. Really though, how do I tell him?
I got kinda lost on the way to Kimmel. I needed to get off at W. 4th St but on the 1 subway, it's called Christopher St which I found out after I rode the 1 to the end of the line. Argh, I was pissed. Turned out I didn't have to worry though... The staff member of InterVarsity was out of town so only one other gal was there. I met GY and it was really cool talking to her. She told me about a retreat happening at the end of February so I'm going to look into that. FM, from Ghana, also came so we did a study which was pretty interesting.
While I was at Kimmel I ran into E and she asked if I was going to come out tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it and meeting even more people. Also saw DB which was sweet because I had missed seeing him last night. Hopefully we're going to meet up over the weekend. Okay, I admit it... I missed talking to him and being in his presence.
Before I left Kimmel, I made use of the Ticket Central Office. I got two movie tickets for $8 each. It's an awesome steal because regular price is $12 each. Isn't that outrageous? Now, thanks to NYU I never have to pay full price again!
Then, before Theory, History and Practice (of PR) started, I read the requisite three chapters then sat through class, chatted with a bunch of gals, set up a meeting time with DB (my partner for the presentation) and then we were done.
JX picked me up after class and I must say it was very convenient that he has his own car! We went to a sushi restaurant at Battery Park, downtown Manhattan-- Close to Wall Street. This is an area that I hadn't been to yet so I'm glad I got to see it. It was quite beautiful: Blue lights over the water, the Statue of Liberty, everything lit up... Exquisite really.
I ordered the shrimp tempura sushi roll and the crap tempura, because I don't eat raw fish. It came looking amazing and so so tasty! JX knows a lot of good places to eat so we're going to explore NYC through that venue which should be great fun. At the end of the meal, I got a lovely long stemmed red rose. And JX handed me another red rose before the end of the our time together. That was really thoughtful of him.
