Wonderful Times

Thursday I had an interview with MTV, and I think it went pretty well. We'll see what comes out of it. Evening time I headed over to AG's place in the Financial District for a collage making party. There were some people I knew already, and made fast friends with the others. We ate a ton of chips, hummus and pita, delicious pastry with potato inside and got some Thai food as well. I picked out Thai Ice Tea and sweet sticky rice with mango-- Had been craving that dessert for a long time, so was very glad to have it.

After eatnig, we started our collages which was quite fun-- Listening to music, chatting, making art. My theme was Princess, dresses, flowers, beautiful luxury things. I then helped clean up and left with KH who was really cool and funny. We walked by the firehouse with the hope that we would meet some firemen, but no such luck. Ahh well, next time!

Friday afternoon I met with some friends to go swimming at the NYU Coles gym. It was a fun time. I love being in the water, and afterwards we spent some time in the sauna. Felt pretty nice.

Then, met with J at Saints Alp, where there is delicious boba drinks and food for cheap! I got the cappuccino boba and chicken yakitori as well as crispy radish fritters-- Everything tasted great. Also had a nice conversation with J. He seems to be a decent guy.

Headed over to a rooftop on Brooklyn to meet with J and a few others. It was a beautiful night, and the roof was quite lovely. I liked meeting R-- He was cute, and enjoyed chatting with him but he left early. I had really yummy ground beef tostados (with lettuce, tomato, cheese, onions) and chicken with black bean rice, and some potatoes with tomato. Lovely dinner, even though it did take too long to cook.

I got a ride to the Brooklyn Museum to meet with DM, who is visiting family in New York for about 2 weeks. I could've gone to P's birthday event (my free ticket was at the door), but I had already decided I just didn't really want to bother with that or the Sunday BBQ.

Anyway, DM and I took the train into Manhattan and went to Cabana's - The rooftop of the Maritime Hotel. We didn't have to wait in the line, buecause I had gotten us on a list, so that was wonderful. Cabana's was really pretty, and felt good-- could feel the cold air on, fun music, and very nicely decorated room. There was also an attached outdoor part after going through a short hall way which was also lovely. It was such a perfect-weather night out!

Saturday I headed out to Altantic City with CM, and his friend B. Got to sit with CM on the bus and had an awesome time talking about all sorts of things. The only drawback was that the bus took forever to get to Atlantic City-- I guess there was a lot of traffic and construction but I'm still wondering how it took 4.5 hours to get there... At least we got around $25 back at the Trump Taj Mahal.

So, by the time we got to AC, we weren't hungry anymore so CM and I headed to the boardwalk, then onto the beach. I had come prepared with a bikini this time, and I had such a fun time in the water! Just jumping the waves, letting it carry me in, going as far in as I could, allowing the waves brush past me... I just wanted to stay in the ocean but then I got water and sand in my eyes so decided it was time to go.

By this time, I had worked up an appetite so I got some cheese fries, and CM was sweet enough to get me a rootbeer shake. Though the orange soda shake was more delicious.

Continued walking along the boardwalk. I even got to push one cute European on the cart-things. And C was right: It wasn't heavy. Did some shopping (along the boardwalk) which was a very good time. Checked out the candy shop, clothing and souvenir places and 99 cent store. We got some candy sticks, and I picked out 2 skirts for around $13 total... One is a short pink one and the other a shimmery blue short skirt with fringe-- Makes me look like a mermaid.

After checking out the live band at Blue Martini, headed out to catch a bus going to Borgata. Along the way, we found some statues of soldiers in memory of the Korean War and a gorgeous fountain in bright colors.

So, we took the jitney over to the Borgata which is a very nice hotel. I like the greenery, different colored glass work, and foot bridge in the inside-front area. We found a cafeteria that had good meal deal options. Got food from Panda Express (Chinese): Fried rice, fried shrimp, kung pao chicken, mandarin chicken. Certainly made me full.

Took the jitney again to Showboat to catch the bus, which was a very good move because there wasn't a long line and we got on the bus without a problem. CM gave me a foot massage and tried to massage my back and shoulders but was kind of hard to do. I appreciated the effort though. Had a nice sleep on the ride back to NYC.

Sunday I was babysitting V around Washington Square Park. They live in a sweet apartment, and such a prime location! We started an art project-- Painting a box which was pretty fun, and relaxing as V kept calling it. Then V rode her bike out to the park -- It was kind of annoying to have to follow her everywhere because she was going faster than I could walk. She's a good kid though.
