Since it's the holidays, I put on a red turtleneck matched with black and white woolly skirt.
This morning I made scrambled eggs with asiago cheese and hash browns to enjoy. After breakfast, I learned how to make one of my favorite desserts ever... It's sugar, crushed nuts and raisins inside a roll and cut at a diagonal after baking. It's so deliciously crisp, sweet and good! And now I have the recipe myself.
I went into town for a little bit to get a Chinese Chicken salad and potstickers to make in the near future. I also zipped over to Jamba Juice and got the Strawberries Wild, but I replaced the banana with raspberries. Much better that way. Oh, and guess what? There are Jamba Juice's in New York... This makes me very happy indeed.
Later in the day I wrapped up some vegetarian spring rolls and fried some up for the dinner at a family friend's tonight. Unfortunately, when my mom carried it to the car, she accidently dropped the dish. At least I hadn't slaved for hours to make them.
We arrived at our friend's house and it was good to see them. A few other families came as well and I mostly talked with N and KF because they're young and JF because he's just so lighthearted and funny. He tells really good stories and is cool to joke around with.
There was plenty to eat: Vietnamese shrimp spring rolls, spinach in puff pastry, beef, fish, veggies, corn bread, a tasty salad with dried cranberries, almonds and tomato. Later we had an ice cream cake and cute mini oranges and my rolled dessert.
After eating, I went with N and KF in the computer room and proceeded to show them my Facebook page. My newest photo album is "Studio Modeling" and they were quite impressed. N even said it's too bad I can't be on "America's Next Top Model" because of the height limitation. She also commented that some of them looked very vogue, which is a great compliment. And both girls agreed that I should get paid for posing...
My mom and I left a bit earlier because we wanted to go to St. James for the Christmas Eve service. Most of the regulars were there so it was nice to see them, since I go to a different church on Sundays now. It was a lovely service... A sing-along with some nice classics, a few passages from the Bible, a short sermon, prayer, communion, candle-lighting and a beautiful closing song.
Happy holidays to all!
