*living my dream life*
Yankees Game & Shopping

So, Wednesday night was my first baseball game ever! Now, I'm not that into sports and certainly don't watch baseball, but MC had gotten tickets to the Yankees vs. Rays game and I had never been to the new stadium so it was great. We met up earlier to get a bite to eat outside of the stadium because everything inside would be overpriced.

Our seats were in the 300's and not too bad. It was exciting to be there-- Such a huge beautiful stadium. I hope that they will have NYU graduation there next summer as well.

The first few innings were slow, and I wanted more hits, more action. Whenever a team hit the ball, I would yell out and more often than not that was while the Rays were up, so MC was like "You're supposed to be rooting for the Yankees." Oops!

But seriously, too many foul balls and balls to the audience. Yankees were sucking! Had some good plays, but they (Yankees) didn't score til much later in the game. The Rays already had 3 by the 6th inning and Yankees were still at 0. I had lost all hope, but they made a comeback in the 8th inning. All three of the guys at the bases made it to the homebase! It was pretty awesome. So they were tied but then it started to rain, so MC and I decided not to wait it out. I learned later Yankees lost by 1 point. So close!

I think my favorite Yankees player of the night was Mark Texiera (sp?). Sadly, Derek Jeter didn't do as well as I expected him to.

Oh, got to check out the Yankees museum partway through the game. Saw the trophies, Babe Ruth photos and uniform, wall with all the signatures, statues of legendary players, and a photo under my own name.

Today was fun. I met with IA (finally!) in the upper east side and we had lunch at a Japanese restaurant. I got the Bento box special-- Basil pomegranate grilled teriyaki chicken, with salad, wonton soup, california roll, shrimp dumpling, and rice. Really good deal. And it was lovely catching up with IA and we'll probably go out during Fleet Week. I'm so excited for it! I looooove the Navy men in the white uniform! So freaking hot!

I needed to get a professional looking button down long sleeve shirt, so I headed down to Macy's and got to meet up with MH because she works around there. Before clothes shopping, I stopped by Payless and ended up getting 2 pairs of summer shoes for under $25! I absolutely love finding good deals like that. The first are white flip flops with silver sequins and the other are hot pink platforms.

It was great seeing MH. I always enjoy chatting with her. She told me she's getting rid of a ton of clothes and will let me see them so I can take whatever looks good and fits! And she was really helpful with helping out with finding what I wanted. I finally decided on a white button down with brown stripes. It was a little pricey but I had some gift cards. After that, we got some pretzels at Auntie Anne's -- MH got me pretzel sticks with caramel and we shared some lemonaide.

After MH left, I was wandering around the makeup section and one gal asked if I wanted a touch up. She worked at Dior, and I love that brand so was happy she asked me. All the products felt great, and she did an amazing job on my eyes. It was a goldish silver with eyeliner and mascara. Looked simple, but she had actually used 3 different colors. Anyway, she told me that I have beautiful eyes-- Aww!

I headed to the UN after that but the tour was cancelled unfortunately. I walked a couple of blocks to check out the UN headquarters museum. It was pretty cool and fun to see what they had.

Had to meet up with my practicum group next for the big presentation! Two of our professors showed up, as well as a couple students. We had a good crowd tonight. The 3 who presented did a fantastic job, and in the end there really weren't that many questions-- Mostly praise. They were blown away, in awe of all our hard work so I am very glad about that.

After we took a group photo, chit chatted with everyone, I went downtown to the Delancey rooftop (even though it was only on the 2nd floor, so there wasn't this crazy nice view that I was expecting and wanting). It was all right though-- Leafy, lush area. And there were delicious cupcakes. I ran into a couple of people I knew and met a few others. There was even a "robot" that made tiny cupcakes-- So cute!

Tomorrow night I'll be flying back to California for a short visit. Should be fun, and looking forward to seeing everyone there!
